I am finding that it is now impossible to filter the loation of the products that I want to buy
I click on the "UK only" filter but then I have to go through 1000s of listings that are located in China but claim to be in the UK.
This is making for a very bad buying experience and is putting me off even trying to find products on this site.
Am I wasting my time complaing to the site administrator or should I just shop elsewhere?

my problem is that I do not want to see all this chinese rubbish. I have bought probably 4 times. 3 items were returned and the 4th I just put straight in the bin. There should be a filter so I don't have to trawl through all these chinese companies even if they are based in the UK. Their products are POOR

Then choose the Click and Collect option.
This has been covered and works.

If its not suitable you can't return it to that warehouse and you have to pay the cost of returning it to China even if they have made the mistake and sent you the wrong item
Who told you this, the seller? There is no way they can make you return it anywhere but the item location specified in the listing.

i emailed a chinese companies with UK based stock asking if it didn't fit where do I return it. they never replied! Say no more

If something is wrong with an item they will often try to get you to return it at your expense and. or to China. But the Noney Back Guarantee says he can only require return to the address declared as the item location in the listing - not his own address 0 and he must pay return postage. Just go ahead without falling for this deterrent, and you will probably get a refund without return, either volutarily from him or forced on him by eBay. A defectuive item in the hands of warehousemen who do nothing but dispatch packages is no good to him.
The time people save by not reading the policy is unlikely ever to be worthwhile.

Item tracked from Bejing.
Well that's one... Yet again we see what side of this issue the violations of the board rules come from.
Well duh.
There is only one side represented on these boards.

Well yes it does.
Click and collect does not apply to companies registered abroad.
Check that search link posted earler for UK stock, look at all the chinese sellers, then tick 'Click and Collect' and watch them all disappear.

I think this has just happened to me.
i was expecting something to arrive today, but the tracking just says:
Updated on: Thursday 13 February 04:32pm
Sender despatching item
This item is on its way to Royal Mail.
The sender has advised they’ve despatched your item to us. More information will be available when we receive it.
i contacted the seller and they said "The parcel has been mis-sorted to another facility.
This may take a couple more days to get to you.
When we receive an update we will update you, apologies for the delay."
any thoughts?

As mentioined here before.
Clicking 'Click and Collect' removes the listings from anyone registered outside of the UK.
I have used this method to great effect since finding out and have had no problems with delivery times.

Clicking click and collect doesnt not mean you have to use the feature, it just filters those who offer it I.E. UK based sellers.
Just try and see, look for something that you woould buy and filter by click and collect and you will see only UK sellers.
Buying with the filter on means nothing.

I definitely follow your advise from now on. Twice (and potentially 3 times) having it withing past few weeks.
Bought a kiddies toy (thanks heavens, it wasn't a birthday gift!), UK location, UK business address, English name, RM despatch...the full work. Two weeks after expected delivery date still nada. Sent a polite message (haven't opened INR at that stage, things happen) seller promised to investigate with despatch team ...and silence. Then (after I had to chase it up again) typical "go to you neighbors and post office". Having my suspisions now, I have asked for RM reference number as package size siggested parcel, and here we go. Opened INR case, got refund, on a lookout for the toy again.
I don't mind buying from China but *knowing* that it can take a month to arrive and not being BS.
