eBay Return — Seller Refused Parcel

Hi everyone,

I returned an eBay item that was not as described using the eBay-provided shipping label. Royal Mail shows the seller refused to accept the parcel, so it’s being returned to me, eBay shows delivered to the seller. eBay said they will wait 3 days for the seller to issue a refund and then will issue it automatically if the seller doesn’t respond. Has anyone experienced this? Can I safely accept the parcel when it returns, and will eBay still issue my refund? Thanks!

Attempted delivery is good enough for ebay to force a refund, whether you accept the parcel or not.

Ebay refuses stating they need to wait 3 working days

Yes. eBay counts incomplete deliveries as a 'delivery' (e.g. maxed out delivery attempts, refused, left uncollected). So by eBay's thinking have;returned the item and will receive a refund.

They have to allow the seller time to refund voluntarily before they step in.

That would not be part of the money back guarantee process so would not affect your current open case.
