Seller refused return parcel and asks for personal data

Hi everyone, I bought a bag on eBay that turned out to be not authentic. I already sent the item back, and the eBay status shows “Return complete”, so the return is officially closed. According to Royal Mail tracking, the package was delivered to the seller but refused by the recipient, and is now on its way back to me. The seller emailed me saying that once I receive the package, they want me to send it again and provide my personal email so they can send a new return label. The seller also claims that eBay sent the return label to the wrong address, which is not my responsibility since I used the label provided by eBay. I’m worried because I don’t want to go through the same problems again, and I’m afraid that eBay might require me to resend the package, even though I already completed the return correctly and seller's behaviour I am afraid it will create more drama. Has anyone experienced a similar situation? How should I handle this to make sure eBay recognizes that I have fulfilled my obligations and that I’m not required to send the item again? Thanks in advance for any advice!

What excuses?  If they are asking you to wait three days this is perfectly normal.

You just need to tell ebay that the recipient refused the delivery and eBay will refund you.

Under ebay MBG rules you are not obliged to return the item again but given that the seller had potentially not updated the return address and that the goods are not unsolicited then they remain the seller's property.

The seller is obliged in this circumstance to arrange collection of the goods at a time so as not to inconvenience you.

It is up to you but in reality  if the goods ever turn up again then the seller by supplying a return label tracked is not inconveniencing you too much to drop it off at your convenience - as for the personal email, that's personal choice - you could always ask the seller to post a label and postal bag to you ?

The OP should wait until they have their refund before doing anything with the item.

eBay policies help you protect your personal data, so best to follow them and not take any purchase or return off-site.
