Suspicious returns process? Or am I worrying over nothing?

Morning. I ordered something and requested collection since the address is in my city (a second hand electronics shop).  I picked it up, took it home and noticed a problem with it, so I let the seller know by ebay message that I would raise a return.

At first, they told me to bring it to the shop and they would issue a refund through eBay, which would be quicker than raising a return request through eBay. (That doesn't make sense to me since both methods are going through eBay, and I don't like the idea of dropping it off without eBay being aware in advance). I decided I would rather send it back to them and and requested a return through eBay. They then messaged me to ask for my address for the return label so it is clear where it is being sent from.

Please could you let me know if this is the normal process for returns? I would assume eBay would have my address and details on file and am not sure why I would need to share it again by chat.

Thank you

I think they don't have to use ebay generated labels in which case they would need your id or order number (but they have those) i don't think they would "need" your address other than to fill in the senders address. If it is no trouble to take it back to the shop, they can issue an eBay refund whilst you are there and you can check that it is being processed on your phone. Refunds are pretty quick. No confirmation, don't leave the item with them.
