Since the fee changes, have you sold more or less?

As a private seller, do you think your sales have improved or worsened since the change in fees?

Do you think the emphasis is now on businesses selling on here?

Dropping the fee sounded good. Obviously it's to tip you towards spending more on advertising, which obviously eBay takes their cut too (which is obviously part of the deal).

I've noticed a drop in sales and a lot less offers sent (silly ones or otherwise) since the fee changes.

It's not even applied yet is it?  Isn't it from sometime in February?  You sellers love spreading gloom and doom don't you?

It is always down in January and into February.

Do you refer to the free to sell as in no fees to private sellers?

In what way is asking a question doom and gloom?

And no, you're wrong. The no fees change happened late last year.

I think from reading the posts here from sellers since the 'No Fees for Private Sellers'  came in many / most sellers have found a Big drop in sales.

Could be because So many more sellers have joined.  The advertising campaign was fierce and using the best media that is the TV it reached many people, so buyers obviously then more sellers to choose from and my humble opinion is that may be one reason sellers suffered such low sales.

Now,  the coming months with a Buyer Protection coming in a few weeks and a mandatory Simple Delivery for Private sellers coming before end of March, what will that bring?  So many threatening of leaving, but here,  let's just wait and see,  but it will be interesting, I'm bracing myself with a flood of questions on here when both happen ! 😊

Ah - you're asking about no fees from last year not new fees for buyers from February?  Apologies.  Thought you were adding to the other February fee related threads.

My saved searches are not returning much stuff in the past few weeks.  If it's not listed I can't buy it.  I never look at whether a seller is private or business, it's immaterial to me and I don't know why private sellers think eBay or buyers care.

I was seeing it more about priority. Business sellers obviously have stock and sell more, so it feels like they've been prioritised. Which makes sense as eBay is now big business. So us private sellers might bow have to compete for visibility. So though we now dont have to pay a sellers fee, feels like we now have to spend more on advertising to get "seen" more.

Massive drop from 3 - 4 sales a week to no sales at all as soon as ‘no fees’ came in. After three months of nothing I sold some pencils last week.

I just removed the rest of my listings after getting some stupidly low offers followed by nasty messages. I don’t need the money and can’t be bothered. I’ll take most unwanted things to the tip and be more careful about what I buy from now on instead of thinking I can just sell ‘it’ on eBay if it doesn’t suit.
