Seller wont sens return label

I bought an item that was damaged in the post,  the seller provided an address to return it at my own cost which has been set at 3rd of April, I have asked them for a return label but they keep stalling offering me partial refunds and claiming they need to consult a manager , I think they want to get to this date so that my return claim is out of date and ended. I don't see any other options.

Re: Seller wont sens return label

If you did not select the reason "I Changed My Mind" when you opened the case and the seller has still not provided you with an eBay Returns Label by the time you read this reply, then get in touch with eBay and report the matter to them, as that way they should be able to step in and arrange for an eBay Returns Label to be made available for you to use in order to return the item to the seller.

To start with click on the following link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid in order to contact eBay Customer Services.  A new page will load up on the screen.  Scroll right down to the bottom of the page and click on the blue button to request a call from an eBay representative.  The lines are open from 8:00am to 10:00pm from Monday to Friday and from 9:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday and Sunday; however, your best bet would be to contact eBay Customer Services as soon as the lines open at 8:00am, as that way you have a far stronger chance of receiving a call from one of the more knowledgeable eBay representatives based in Dublin, as opposed to receiving a call from an eBay representative based in eBay's Philippines-based call centre, which may well be the case if you were to wait until later in the day to contact them.

Once you receive a call from an eBay representative give him or her the User ID of the seller, the item listing number and the order number of the item in question.  Explain that the seller has failed to issue you with an eBay Returns Label so that you can return the item to the seller and eBay ought to sort this out for you and ensure that a label is made available for you to use so that you can return the item.

Once you receive the required eBay Returns Label stick it onto the package, pack up the item and return it to the seller.  All eBay Returns Labels are fully tracked, so as long as the tracking shows attempted or successful delivery of the item back to the seller eBay would end up refunding your money in full.

Finally, once you have got your money back you can then leave the seller some feedback in relation to the transaction.  If you intend to leave negative feedback it's best to hold off of doing so until the case has been closed, as it has been known in the past for sellers to be able to successfully appeal to eBay for removal of the buyer's feedback in instances where the buyer has left negative feedback before the case has been concluded.  By waiting until after the case has been closed in your favour there is far less chance that the seller would be able to persuade eBay to remove your feedback, especially if the case had to be escalated to eBay in order to resolve the matter.

Re: Seller wont sens return label

If you haven't done so already the option to escalate your case to ebay will appear 3 working days after you started it.   Go to the return case, click on Case Details > Respond to Case > Escalate This Case > Submit.

But bear in mind that ebay cannot enforce paid-for return labels from sellers outside the UK.

There is no " Respond to case" on my screen. There is only " add tracking" , " contact seller " or " cancel return" .Screenshot_20250401_183203_eBay.jpg
