Seller refuses to refund

I purchased an item from Ebay. Returned at my own expense . Provided the seller with proof of tracking. Item recieved with seller 23rd October.  I put negative feedback on eBay.  Seller contacted me said would refund as goodwill. Still refusing to acknowledge the item had been returned recieved. As long as I reviewed my negative feedback. I agreed once I had recieved my refund, would then revise. Nothing not a thing. No refund. No apology.

Why didn't you open a return through Ebay?

That way, once the tracking shows the seller has the item back, they have 48 hours to refund,

If they don't, Ebay will step in and refund from the seller's funds.

If you don't use the system, then there is nothing that can be done through Ebay.

Ordered size 10. Adult.   When it arrived it was approximately age 8  in size.  So Too Small

Was the purchase by chance from a Chinese seller?  Their sizes are always notoriously small but unfortunately,  if it states size 10 on the label,  and that's what you ordered,  the return then is for a case of  'Does Not Fit'.

 

If the seller has a returns policy then you can return it,  but you have to pay for that tracked postage.

 

Is this a registered Chinese seller?  Then, check where the item is actually located,  it will state that on the listing,  and if it's a UK location that's where the item goes back to,  do not be fobbed off that it goes to China.

It wasn't  China. I asked for the addressee to return as honestly have never had to return before

 I had already returned the coat. Stating too small. 

I was only told after the event to get ebay involved 

I trust people to be fair and honest. Never will I buy from Ebay again after this .

That's a bit of an over reaction for what essentially was your fault.

What you should have done is open a case,

Not as described is what this is your expecting a size 10 but a smaller size arrives that is not as described.

The seller will send you a label none of this sending back at your expense.

But bit late now as you did not follow the system in place.

Your only possibility is to get ebay to call you and explain to them what happened. Arrange call back frist thing in the morning 8am, Best chance of getting the Irish call centre who are best equipped to deal with this.
