Hi all, when making an offer on an item that has the Click & Collect option, you get the warning window that if the offer is accepted, your default payment method is used to autopay for the said item, however, it will only show you your primary address to send to but NO OPTION to choose the click and collect address from that windows.
I bought an item that way and it's being delivered signed for to my primary address as it was autopaid when the seller accepted. Although I can arrange for someone to be there or be there myself when I planned to be somewhere else, I didn't plan for it to be delivered this way.
I hope someone from the ebay coding and design team can fix this ASAP, it's likely to cause lots of problems if someone only buys an item on the assumption that they can use the optional Click & Collect delivery for convenience but then that ends up delivered to their primary address instead. Imagine if I had fallen out with my Partner/Wife/Husband...and they have a grudge and I had just moved out...
I suppose I could've tried to change the primary address although I'm not sure if I can put the click & collect as a secondary address as the collection code needs to be auto inserted by ebay when I choose it...
Any feedback or suggestions welcome

Hi @duskytech, thanks for your post.
The option to select Click & collect currently is not available through the Best Offer. However, it is something that we are working on adding soon. In addition, team is looking to add GSP and Combined shipping feature, as well as additional payment methods such as Apple Pay/Google Pay. Please keep an eye for these updates in the near future.
Thanks,
Anita

There have been a lot of complaints about this. Unfortunately, nobody from Ebay with the power to fix this issue will read the forum.
Sellers can opt out of requiring instant payment for an offer.
Maybe a fix for you would be to create an email to send to sellers saying you would like to make an offer but want to use click and collect so could they opt out of requiring immediate payment.

This is also causing me problems and stopping me bidding on items. If a seller includes the make an offer option they are obvioulsy prepared to take slightly less than the buy it now price.
I have no option on larger items other than click and collect. Been a Yorkshireman I'm not prepared to pay the buy it now price when the seller includes the make offer option so am not bidding items I would have probably bought under the old system.

Hello, this has not been fixed yet! Postal service where I live is not good so chose an item specifically with the Click & Collect option - my offer was accepted and autopaid and now it's being sent to my home address 😫 Please help! Thank you

It's now 31st July 2024 and this problem has still not been fixed. anita@ebay said on 17-11-2023 that it would be fixed soon.

I encountered this problem for the first time this week. Not being offered click and collect when making an offer (and immediate payment being taken) took me by surprise. I now I have to wait at home for my parcel to be delivered which is really inconvenient. I have always paid immediately when purchasing something and I understand that possibly some people aren't as quick to pay but I wonder why click and collect isn't available when the item being advertised says Click and Collect is offered? As the above contributor says, it was November last year when ebay said it would be fixed soon! I won't be making any more offers on items until this problem is fixed.

Shamefully it seems as though anita@ebay and everyone else at ebay have washed their hands of this issue. Don't expect a fix anytime soon.

I can't stand this auto pay. I now can't use click and collect, can't use PayPal pay in 3, can't use a cashback site - all because of this. Making an offer used to be a good aspect to ebay and now, along with the removal of nectar points as vouchers, it is pushing me on to other sites.

If you log into Nectar and follow the links points are still available.
Usually 2 points per pound but has been 3 and even 4 in the last few weeks.

Nectar points are still available, as you say, but unfortunately not in conjunction with pre-authorised payment at present.

Click & Collect is now available with pre-authorised payment under 'Delivery' options rather than the 'Send to' section. The other things that you mention are, unfortunately, still not available at present.

Thanks for the information on delivery.

Yes thanks. I know this but I only got a Nectar card to use on ebay for vouchers. I thought it was a really good scheme and sad it's ended. I don't use points anywhere else. Thanks anyway.

Click & Collect problems continue.
The option appears to be offered by a seller on an individual listing, and if that's all you buy from them then it still tends to work OK. But if you buy multiple items and request combined postage, the Click & Collect option is no longer available at Checkout.
Why is this?
It makes no sense at all.
REALLY infuriating!
