New search format on mobile devices - its appallingly bad!

Has anyone else been presented with a new display when searching for products? I'm using an iPad, so other devices may differ.

Previously, I would enter a search term and then be presented with a grid of results that were easy to glance through to see if I could find what I want. Today, I have input a search term and been presented with a single listing taking up 90% of my screen with all other results on a tiny sidebar that has to be scrolled through.

Evidently, eBay have decided that you should ONLY look at listings with paid promotion, so they whack one practically full screen and make everything else impossible to navigate. I've looked to see if the view can be changed, but have failed to find an option.

it is the most stupid, non user friendly change I have ever seen on eBay and if they stick with it, I suspect their revenues will collapse, as I certainly don't have the patience to scroll through a tiny side bar to find what I want. Upshot of my experience is that I bought elsewhere. 

I often wonder if they're trying to deliberately ruin the platform, as very little they do seems to benefit users...

Spoke with CS and this is only on the eBay App - browsers are still as they used to be.

My husband has just had the same problem on his iPad ebay app.  Found a solution, only by chance so I hope it will work for you too.  Do a search on your app as usual.  In the top right, select the Filter option (where you would normally select Condition or Item Location etc), scroll down this Filter panel and near the bottom (you may have to open the Show More down arrow)  there is a View option with three settings.  I’m guessing you will want the first setting with the four boxes.

Really hope this works for you.

Thank you so much, this has worked for me 😁 The most annoying thing as someone that buys and sells, is that the chances of my listings being seen by anyone using the app are zero, as I won't use the PPC promotion, so my listings will only appear in the silly side bar, unless they find the solution you've provided. 

Let's see how long it takes for eBay to remove the view options.

I just buy, and this new format is horrendous. I will probably end up buying from temu as their search is much like the old search format. 
this is as bad if not worse than Amazon.

Noticed this last night. I give up on the end. I got a small square to look at and difficult to scroll as was so slow. Instead of buying on eBay I went to A and Etsy and got what I wanted there. 

I wish eBay would stop tinkering.

I've just seen this... and honestly it's actually the final straw for me. I will no longer use eBay to either sell or buy. I really resent being shown stuff I have no interest in that is promoted because someone has paid.

I have no idea what eBay are thinking by making the search option so "user unfriendly" and to take up 90% of the screen with something that is unwanted is a flippin' joke! Wise up eBay or you'll be losing customers in their thousands... I use Vinted now, and can recommend them way above eBay...

Mine is ok on iPhone but iPad went to bad format. Did you look at contributor Peylahs advice? Worked a treat for me and hasn’t reverted back. Good luck.

That's odd, as following peylah's solution worked for me and it's not reverted when doing new searches.

I totally agree. It's putting me off searching therefore buying. So saving me money ha ha
