New other - returns?

If I buy a "new other" category item (kitchen appliance that requires installation to test) that is described as "untested" and "no returns" in the listing, can I return it if it doesn't work?

Yes.

'No Returns' (from a private sale) can only be applied when the buyer has changed their mind about wanting the item.

If the item doesn't work, it's 'not as described' and you can return it for a refund.

('Untested' means nothing whatsoever.... whatever the seller thinks!)

Thanks. It's an item that's not really repairable, at a good price considering the stated cosmetic damage, tatty box etc - but not if it's not working - then it's a £200 lump of scrap metal.
