New Feedback Profile page. No more Classic View :(

I have just seen the new Feedback Profile page, which made my heart sink. Although there is an option to switch back to the Classic Feedback page, presumably this horrible new version will be permanently foisted upon us sooner or later, whether we like it or not.

Perhaps those using a mobile find the 'new look' pages preferable, but as a laptop user, I'm finding everything takes longer, and looks worse. If I could roll back the site to how it looked 10 years ago, I would do it without hesitation.

The new FP page is a nightmare to use, involving pop-ups & sliding boxes, drop-down menus & various filters etc etc. As a buyer, I don't want to have to spend all my time clicking & scrolling & filtering to find the information I could see at a glance on the Classic FP page.

I was really hoping Ebay would leave the FP page alone, so this feels like the last straw!  No Member quick links, no handy Feedback ratings box, no yellow DSR stars... and it looks like the coloured stars next to each feedback score have been removed, too. Everything that used to make the page easy & pleasant to use has disappeared.

Buying & selling on Ebay used to be pretty straightforward & enjoyable, but all these changes have turned it into a frustrating, time-consuming, headache-inducing chore.

No doubt we will be told 'you will get used to it', but I still miss the Classic pages that have been replaced over the past few years. And why should we have to 'get used' to poorly designed pages that don't look as good, or work as well as the old ones?

I'm also using Firefox on a laptop, but if I click that blue tab - assuming you mean that irritating 'floating' tab that bobs up when you scroll down - I just get the silly Filter box sliding over from the right.  Perhaps I can't see for looking, but it seems ridiculous to introduce this awful, fiddly system, when the Classic view page is so much better.

As you said,  'it worked fine before with less clicks & thought needed.'  Exactly!

Yes, I had forgotten that I did have that view a while ago - it was a view that was given to some accounts being used as guinea pigs to test the new design as far as I was aware.

Luckily, for me it seems to have gone as it was on my seller account, which I've not used for around a month as I'm recovering from a bout of Covid so could do without the extra stress!

Fingers crossed that it's removed from your account soon as it is definitely not an improvement, quite the opposite!

It only adds to the confusion when some of us get one view, and others get something different. Another reason to just leave things alone!

I'm currently getting the horrible feedback page for business sellers, & Classic view for private sellers, so it's all 'twixt & 'tween at the moment. And if I click on the Seller feedback % on the listing page, above the item price, I'm now getting a large pop-up box, instead of the page whizzing down to the few bits of feedback at the bottom of the page. It is just getting beyond a joke!

It seems whatever feedback link you click on, it takes you somewhere else first, never straight to the All Feedback page. So frustrating!

Wishing you a speedy recovery🙂

eBay PRETENDS to be listening, ando so all the others... including the super-internet-controller that Amazon is!
They spend millions every year with thousands of people scousuing the internet for BAD reviews ... £££ $$$$ €€€€

No conspiracies, just how it is now... with anything Corporation related.
eBay was ruined already about 5-6 years ago.

A slightly different question, but still about feedback:

Is it still the case that, when a buyer has returned a wrong item & got a refund, s/he can no longer post negative feedback for the seller?

It's been like that for a while, but lately I've seen negative feedback from buyers who seem to have returned items & got a refund, so I wonder if it has changed back to how it was before.

Does anyone know??

(There are cases of sellers so bad & item too cheap to further waste time on returns, when at least not returning means you can warn others so the same doesn't happen to them, since otherwise buyer's feedback is removed after a return so nothing wrong ever shows up in the bad seller's feedback!).

It's Friday so it's eBay's maintenance day.

Try it again. I can see it and you have 2757 and 100%

Maybe you're seeing your "seller feedback" ?

If you click on "all feedback" on your feedback page you should then see your seller and buyer feedback which would give you  your over all true total feedback score.

Hope this helps.

Yes, the information you want is available, but the point is it's hidden away in sub-menus and requires further clicks and scrolling to find it. The new initial landing page for feedback adds nothing useful, and actually causes frustration and delay. Ebay must have teams of software developers and designers sitting around with nothing to do, so they have to be kept busy to justify their existence.

Hi, sorry I can't find the post you're referring to - is it by any chance this post?

(because I can't really see how your reply would answer this question):

'Is it still the case that, when a buyer has returned a wrong item & got a refund, s/he can no longer post negative feedback for the seller?'

I'm not sure about this either! If a buyer gets a refund, they should still be able to leave neutral or negative if they feel it is appropriate, but I think eBay removes feedback that mentions the eBay case, or the refund. It is all so complicated these days - no wonder so many are not bothering to leave feedback...

sadly, NOT using/leaving feedback contributes to flebay ridding itself of this responsibility; another example of flebay hating its customers... such behavior makes facebook marketplace look GOOD! shame

CTRL-F is a physical keyboard function? not commonly available on mobile device keyboards (smart-ISH phones??), even speech-to-text mishandles such... thus a 'physical' searchbox is...

There's a lot that's not commonly available on phones, which infuriates me about people who only use phones and can no longer bother to open a computer. A whole world of culture is lost and we're becoming illiterate savage simpletons who just type as briefly as possible without capitalisation, polite greetings, punctuation, etc.

"china" sellers were able to request immediate removal of negatives but something may have changed recently i think as ive noticed buyers, myself included, are now stating facts in the neutral options.

ive had china sellers pleading with me to delete mine/asking for written authority to ask ebay to remove fback.

this is after theyve tried every trick in the book to defraud /disrespect me.

Always leave the Neutral feedback BEFORE the returns case is successful/refunded etc, that gets you a very quick result in the stage where they refuse to provide a legit ebay returns label 😉

remember to only state true case facts of your experience in the neutral  though.

do not allow it to be removed, they need to start learning some respect for ebay buyers.

happy new year.

Well, much 'digital ink' has been poured into this thread and I seem to keep coming back to it too! This time with a question, although maybe not strictly relevant to the first post.

I've checked the feedback rules and there doesn't seem any that mean that a negative for a seller will be removed just because ebay closed the case in the seller's favour.

Is that correct?

(Tracking shows pack never physically handed in to the post, only showing "Item PRE-ADVICE received" since Day 1. Seller said this courier only shows when it's past the customs, a lie. Seller kept lying to stall, saying the estimates were wrong & placed by ebay not him, that I must wait another 4 weeks, so I did, to be nice, and when I finally opened a case I found I was no longer covered by ebay because it was opened too late! Ebay case was closed instantly and I got my refund from Paypal instead).

This seller's feedback is suspiciously good, like ebay removes all his negatives, while  reviews for him outside ebay are terrible on average , and articles about him show he was even convicted for serious & wide fraud.

I hate to post feedback only for it to be removed by ebay. Do I post feedback?

You have 2 options

Option 1

Leave Neutral or Negative feedback for the seller in question.

If the seller is at fault and won't resolve the situation in a professional and civil manner, It is important to NOT say anything on your feedback comment that mentions cases in eBay or slags off a seller by saying anything rude or inappropriate otherwise the seller will have a case to be able have your feedback removed by eBay.

Option 2

Not to bother leaving any feedback for the seller in question.

Sometimes when a seller won't answer or co-operate,  it's best to just get your money back from eBay via opening a case in eBay and let them deal with the offending seller accordingly, the more cases a seller has opened against them the more chance that eBay will take the appropriate action against that seller which will be be much more effective then just leaving a Negative or Neutral feedback for that seller.

I am not interested in positive feedback, I just want to see the sellers neutrals and negs to find out how bad they are.
