Item not as described after collection

More of a rant really.

I won a auction for a whole kitchen and went off sellers description and uploaded photos. Due to the items location and size I had to order a man and van to collect which again added costs on to purchase. I gave the 6 digit collection code to the seller via message once the man and van had arrived for collection.

Kitchen delivered and stacked in storage for a few days whilst I removed my other kitchen.

I then come to find that the kitchen is in no way matching the sellers description. I get that the kitchen is used. They said it had been looked after and Updated with a coat of paint. The doors are all chipped and marked with paint runs down them. The kitchen sink is so badly marked up from use, the laminate on the kitchen work tops are all scratched up and rotting where the sink was in situ. Units falling apart, spindles and kickbacks snapped. Filthy units. I'm absolutely devastated. Spent over £500 on this with delivery. Seller isn't responding to messages. I know I can't really send it back as by giving the collection code and paying for overheads on delivery there would be costs if I was to do so. Frustrated with myself and lesson learnt.

By using your own courier you are no longer covered by the MBG so are at the mercy of the seller. This is why it is always best to view collection items in person before taking them away. You could maybe try your payment provider for help.
