HELP! Not been scammed before but got one today. iPad Pro M4 1TB bought from a seller

with very limited feedback (I know I know... I don't need to be lectured). Have since found that there are lots of these being sold fraudulently at the moment.

Item was 'delivered' today but not to me which I was expecting (that or something that wasn't an iPad was going to turn up). Photo on the 'proof' is also not my house. N.B. They have also used Ebay's Simple Delivery option so not sure how they've managed to do it.

When I go on the tracking on Royal Mail and put in my postcode for more delivery options it says it's incorrect. Spoke to Royal Mail who gave me the (incorrect but similar) postcode that was used. They said it was subsequently corrected and they believe that's where they delivered the item. Obviously that is not the case - presumably the scammer knows that.

Anyway - what's the best thing to do now? I have a few options:

1. Contact the seller - I know it's a scam so they'll fob me off if they reply at all.

2. Contact Ebay and say it's not been received - though it won't let me do that yet as it's still the date it was delivered. Says 'it may still be on the way'.

3. Just get PayPal to do a Chargeback on it.

4. Get American Express to do a Chargeback on it.

Best to get eBay CS on the phone after 9am tomorrow (don't open an INR Case as tracking shows 'delivered'). Explain to eBay that the photo is not of your address, and that the postcode doesn't match yours. The last time I had to do this, they refunded straight away. Good luck!
