Is this the lowest of the low now ?

Open case for return. All organised by me. My sis ordered a tablet to use in hospital. The seller sent a broken tablet. So I had to login for her and process a return.

Seller asked whats wrong - doesn't switch on or charge.
Seller offered 25% money back and keep item.
Yea... scam. Have to wait one more day to ask ebay to step in.
Seller accepted return, expects my sis to pay return postage to china.
Ebay says seller is responsible for return postage.
Seller asks if they can send us another tablet. No thanks. Not after your 25% offer and expecting us to pay for your failed product postage.
That one day has passed. Tried to contact ebay - first time ever I manage to get the system to call me 23 minutes to wait. 23 minutes. I login on my own account and try. It says 2 minutes to call me. Strange eh ?
20 minutes later a call came in. Ebay agent refused point blank to talk to me. But I don't want data. I am not breaching data protection. I am only giving information in light of the circumstances they already know, from a previous ordeal. Did I mention my sis has been ill for a very long time ? She had three operations recently that if she didn't have, she would have died.
And ebay wants to talk to her. So they can be told what they can see... the seller is breaching policy and they are refusing to step in because my sis is too ill to tell them.
This is me contacting ebay on an issue and with regards to welfare of their own customers health. They don't care.

Can I speak to anyone ? no. The chat doesn't offer me to speak to a real person on chat. Telling the ebay agent on the phone that the seller is doing what they are doing, was totally ignored. n

Have we reached a new low where ebay finds a customer has been handled shabbily by a seller and because they are now very ill, ebay can just shun any communication or updates one the matter that THEY ALREADY HAVE ACCESS TO ON THEIR OWN SYSTEM and I am just trying to alert them to it existing.

How on earth does anyone even remotely respect ebay ?

Ebay support cannot discuss it with you but it seems to me the solution here is for you to log in to your sisters account - with her permission - and you should be able to get things sorted out that way.

They will facilitate the return, it's annoying I know but to get the money back you will have to return the tablet.

ebay have already taken data questions to access the account last week when we (my brother and I) had to speak to them about another issue. I have full access to her ebay, email etc. I was in the account today when calling ebay.

I cannot seem to do anthing that I would normally be able to do. I cannot find any "ask ebay to step in".

I don't want anything from ebay, information or otherwise. I want to alert them to their own failure to treat a customer right at a very dire time.

They infact can legally discuss a customers welfare with me. They already have.

Sorry to hear about your sister. If you're logging into her account you've no need to tell anyone you're not the account holder. To return to China you will probably have to pay the postage.

I'm going around in circles here. The ask ebay to step in at best is bringing me back to this same portion of the help page and it is clearly stated that the seller is responsible (and legally rightly so) responsible for the return postage. Even if it's to China. They say if the seller refused to pay for postage, wait 3 days and then ask ebay to step in. It's been five days and in 9 days time, they will auto close the return.

So I tried calling the various 0800 numbers including the one on the head office address. And they all go round in circles. Ask me for date of birth and then tell me the reason I am calling should be dealt with online.

Well, ebay, you're about to help a seller rob a dying woman. This will be the last straw for my brother. They've gone through enough. What you know on this thread alone, is not even half of it. *bleep* is wrong with you ebay ?

Hey look. I deliberately wrote *bleep* so the post can be edited or deleted by ebay staff. But they certainly won't jump in and prevent themselves robbing from a dying woman.

Jesus H Christ Man, You say you have full access, so as far as that goes tell them its your account.

You can be called Ethel or whatever the account name is, but as far as ebay know its yours.

Then deal with it. Dont tell them its not yours and if they do call get a female to answer and give them the phone,

I have never in my life needed to call or have to be called in my life.

Just open a case for SNAD and if they dont send a return label, then ebay will refund and you can bin it.

Have you ever thought of being nice and honest ? That's a rhetorical question and that means, no need to reply. I just hope you are ok.

I can better (if that is the word) your problem. I was in hospital for 3 months after a major car accident. Drunk driver ploughed into me. This site deleted 99% of my listings and have demoted me to start all over again after being here since 2011. They have no feelings whatsoever. I was on a life support system with no knowledge of general life for 4 weeks. eBay has no compassion for anyone being ill whatsoever.
