Change of mind return

In all of the years on here, I've never actually done this before & not 100% sure how it should work.

We've bought the wrong part <quite expensive> & have emailed the seller who agreed to a return & so opened a return with ordered wrong part etc as reason.

The return info on the item says that a label should be given & when the seller gets it back the cost is deducted from the refund., but I can't see the label anywhere.

Is it not automated once accepted, or does the seller have to do something else?

Also, is there a way to pay the outward postage too as it's our fault?

Change of mind return

Glad the label finally turned up - it did sound like it must've been some sort of glitch. Everything is so automated now, the seller has virtually no input.

'Also, is there a way to pay the outward postage too as it's our fault?'

I was wondering about this, but again, with this automated refunding process, I don't know if the seller would be able to knock the outward postage off your refund?

Actually, it must be possible for the seller to do some manual adjusting to the refund, because of cases where a seller can offer a partial refund, if the item is returned damaged in some way.

Oh well, hope it all gets sorted out ok in the end...😊

You say the seller has agreed to the return in an email.

Have they accepted the return "case" on ebay?

It's odd that the return label wasn't there - like you said, I think as soon as a return case has started, the label is automatically sent to the buyer. Definitely for a 'not as described' case, but maybe an 'ordered wrong part' case requires the seller to click on something to accept the return & send label?

@department28  @3942rick2005  no it's not that seller, but thanks @xyz307xyz

Hi & thanks for replying.

The return request was opened Tuesday on Ebay after agreeing with the seller first.

We left it a day before asking them if we needed to do something else as there was no label or link to get one.  Early this morning it appeared in OH's email account with a link to print it.

Maybe it was a glitch, but another recent unsettling process due to a delay of over 24 hours after the return being granted to receive the link to print it.

Nowhere near as time-wasting as we are currently having to deal with on the watery site though....

Yes, we're expectimg them to deduct both postage costs from the refund.
