CHARITY NOT WANTING TO GIVE REFUND

Alright so a couple days ago I bought a coat of eBay and this was off a charity, and it took them a bit of time due to them being a big charity on eBay, but anyway I received the item and when I opened the package up and checked out the jacket, it had rips all over the bottom of the seem big ones aswell not tiny ones, the cord of the jacket was hanging out and it stank of smoke and gave me a bad migraine, plus it had holes in the hood,

I contacted the charity through eBay messages and was told I would get a partial refund,

I waited for a partial refund to come through but I didn’t receive one,

and the charity takes up to 2 days to reposted back to messages and I really can’t wait that long for a response,

I am now stuck as I would prefer a partial refund as it’s still reparable and washable but if I open a case I know I’m going to receive a prepaid label,

I want to know whether there is any way I can open a case and ask eBay to step or just ask eBay to give me a partial refund straight away as currently they are only providing a return label when we have agreed on a partial refund?

by the way the jacket is over £100 if it was cheap I would’ve just returned it,

Thanks for looking and would appreciate any help,

And the item was not purchased on the this account which I have posted the message just to let others know that this is a genuine message as my account is fairly new,

Re: CHARITY NOT WANTING TO GIVE REFUND

It does not matter who you bought if off.

Open an eBay Case for 'not as described' within the eBays 30days Guarantee.

You will get a Returns Postage Label, if you do not, contact eBay's Customer Services & they will issue you with the postage label.

Do not close the eBay case until you receive a Full Refund.

Re: CHARITY NOT WANTING TO GIVE REFUND

Thanks for the response,

Appreciate it,

But what if I want a partial refund?

What should I do?

Thanks,

Re: CHARITY NOT WANTING TO GIVE REFUND

There is a section in the eBay's case where you can leave a message on what refund you will be happy with.

And they will accept this?

Re: CHARITY NOT WANTING TO GIVE REFUND

All eBay Business or Private Seller follows eBay's 30 days Guarantee Rules.  As the item was damaged it is classed by eBay as 'not as described'.

You do not have to contact the Seller as the eBay case will sort it out for you.

Re: CHARITY NOT WANTING TO GIVE REFUND

Just return it for a full refund. Why would you want a partial refund if it's got big rips in the bottom and holes in the hood?

They are no obligation to provide a partial refund, but the alternative is a full refund on return of the item.
