So bought a watch at the weekend from a seller with decent feedback, silly me forgot to check the feedback was from being a seller, it wasn't, anyway soon after doing buy it now I got a dodgy Royal Mail tracking number that doesn't work beginning 050 and not ending in GB like they usually do, no reply to messages, apparently should have arrived by today.
should I be worried, should I open a case?

Sounds iffy but you shouldn't worry, you will get your money back if you don't get it. Wait for a couple more days or until the latest estimated delivery date on the listing has passed then open a "not received" case. Remember to escalate it to eBay after 3 working days.

My RM labels bought on eBay start with 050 and don't end in GB, so not necessarily dodgy.
They aren't really tracking numbers as they only say when the parcel has been delivered.
Open a case as soon as the last estimated date has passed.

It sounds like the tracking number was generated by Ebay when they purchased the postage through Ebay.
It's not actually a tracking number ,it should/would only show up on track and trace when delivered.
The latest delivery date given is estimated ,if seller bought the postage through Ebay it will immediately show as despatched but seller might not actually post it until later.
Ebay messages are a bit hit and miss ,i often receive messages but get no notification at all ,it's only when i actually look at messages that i see them ,some are often days old.

That's sounds like it, what type of service is that? It's not the usual special delivery or 1st class signed for

Mine are 2nd class.
What service did you pay for?

It is a Royal Mail delivery confirmation code - once delivered it will show this on the Royal Mail tracking website and the ebay order will also update to show delivered. Although ebay call this a tracking number it is just a delivery confirmation which you get with standard 1st/2nd class postage when bought online.

Evri DPD it said. Must have been sent 2nd class and I know myself can take days

Only RM services such as Signed for end with GB.

Can i ask. Did the watch turn up? Im in the same issue with a phone i bought on ebay. Guy said he used 2nd class. The estimate date is tomorrow and still no sign of it.
Getting concerned
Thanks

eBay estimated delivery dates are not correct
They overestimate how quickly items will arrive
It is unlikely to arrive when eBay say it will, many sellers have reported inaccurate delivery estimates
Your money is safe, if your item doesnt arrive then you are eligible for a full refund
Just don't rely on the dates eBay give you for delivery. They are not accurate.

My parcel had a Royal mail tracking number for a different address that is real in a different town,Pictue of house and person opened door to take the parcel.Seller says parcel is lost. surely this must be a case of incorrect upload of tracking number by seller? ...or is something else happening as I notice several negative feedbacks for similar problem on a number of listings; I have not had any probelms with my Royal mail deliveries.
