Why are sellers able to lie about an item's location. Asian sellers falsely show item is in UK

More than once recently I have bought items which the listing shows to be located in UK.

Then there is a long delay because the item is coming slowly from Asia, usually China.

Why doesn't Ebay prevent these dishonest listings?

They do,  if an item states a UK location, with a say 3 - 4 day delivery,  then takes weeks to arrive with a Chinese stamp,  that is country misrepresenation and can be reported,  there is a report button on every listing.

Many Chinese sellers have UK depots to facilitate a quicker dispatch,  this is above board,  the seller's country of registration can always be found first,  if you wish,   before buying,  by clicking on their feedback profile

Ive reported dozens of "misrepresented locations" and ebay has never taken action. Seller describes goods with the caveat "china version", which means fake. "genuine UK seller" posted from Guangdong.

its not up to us to police ebay, it should holding itself to its own regulations and take reports seriously, instead of profiteering from the sale of counterfiet, illegal and sometimes dangerous goods.
