Tracked order didn't arrive

I bought an item last week from a business seller and received an email from Hermes today to say it's been delivered ... only it hasn't. Worse still they claim to have delivered it at 10.06 when I was at home and there was no knock at the door, no card saying where it had supposedly been left or anything else

I can't even send a "not received" message, as when I try to do that it goes straight to "delivery info" and won't let me get any further

Is there anything I can do, or is it a waste of time since the seller can claim it was tracked and delivered?

You can let the seller know that the item is shown as delivered but that it has not been and ask them to contact Hermes and ask them to provide a photo of where the courier actually left it.

It may be at a completely different address or it may be that they put it somewhere very obscure.  A neighobur of mine had their parcel carted off with the recycling a couple of weeks ago as someone thought it a great idea to use the recycling wheelie bin as a 'safe place' so it's always worth digging more into this to see what actually happened.

If you do have to open a case for item not received I would do that on PayPal as they go into things more, eBay would just close it down in favour of the seller as they have a delivery confirmed tracking number.

I've also had items left in the bins before (!!) so checked there too but there's nothing, so I've messaged the seller and hope they get back to me ...

i can come on here everyday and read the same question from different people, ridiculous!
