The Southall scam

Is EBay doing anything about the tidal wave of scams from Chinese suppliers sending irrelevant rubbish in place of the goods ordered which all quote a return address in Southall on a road called Trident Way?Paypal are supporting the seller insisting that the incorrect goods should be returned to China at the customers expense before a refund can be authorised. The "goods" sent are worth less than the envelope they are packed in by the way. It seems to infest Facebook as well as EBay, and there seem to be hundreds of incidences, in may cases where the price of the real item is not much higher than the rubbish they send, so not exactly major scale criminals.

I don't know. You would have to ask Ebay.  Help & Contact is at top and foot of any page, with Live Chat and request-a-callback available during working hours.  You should also report this to Trading Standards.

But while you're here, how does PayPal come into the equation...?  If the item location on the Ebay listing is Southall, then that is where the item is returned to, and at the seller's expense using Ebay's returns system.

there has always been a major difference between eBay and PayPal in as much -

returns for an eBay case is to the location on the listing, but for PayPal its to where the seller is registered.

However, buyers can sign up for PayPal free returns before opening a case.
