I bought a laminator that failed to work and asked for a refund. The seller accepted and refunded the full price. I printed a return label and sent the faulty item back. About a month later the laminator came back to me with a sticker indicating that the post was unable to deliver the item and the recipient faild to collect it from the mail office.
Can anyone advise, who does it belong to and am I free to simply dump it?
Thanks
If you don't want the item send the seller a message stating that the item has been returned to you due to an unsuccessful attempt at delivery. Tell the seller that if he or she wants the item back again then you would be willing to return the item, on the condition that he or she provides you with a postage label so that you can return the item. If the seller fails to reply to your e-mail or tells you that he or she doesn't want the item back again then take the item up the tip and get rid of it.
No, you can't just dump it. Let the seller know you have it, and that you will return it as soon as he supplies you with a prepaid shipping label. He can buy one from his chosen carrier online, and email it to you. Tell him that unless you receive the label within 30 days, you will dispose of the item as you see fit, as you will then be legally entitled to do.
I would hang onto it for now, until you've asked the seller if they still want it.
Send them a message and see if they want you to resend it, and if they do they must send you the postage money or a label.
If they don't want it back they will tell you.
