I bought 2 security cameras from an ebay busines seller over 12 months ago. Both these cams have now let in water and the manuf will not honour garantees since seller is not an authroised dealer. Cams were bough new in box. I had no reason to suspect they were not legit. Seller is not answering my messeges so I suspect counterfit goods. I cant find any way to complain to ebay about a transaction that is over 90 days old.
When you say over 12 months just how many months over 12 months are we talking about?.
Unless stated otherwise at the time of sale most retailers give a 12 months guarantee.
As you have exceeded that period I doubt very much if your seller did respond they would accept a return for items like this..
With regards to Trading Standards they would look at just how long these units have been fixed outside and more importantly the price paid and if a expectation of durability taking into account what I have mention has not been attained.
With regards to warranty/ guarantee do you have hard copy of the conditions of warranty.
