I recieved a faulty doll kit recently,And immediately informed the seller,But no reply to any of my messages.I put in a return,But after five days i did not recieve any postage label from the seller.A message came up for me to ask Ebay for help to step in,So i asked them to,And straight awaythe screen said this return is closed?
Anyway,After the promise to get back to me after 48 hours,No one did.In the meantime,The seller sent a return label for collect plus,And as i cant get to the library to print it out,I phoned Ebay to inform them that i was returning it from the post office at my own expense.
With Ebay closing the return,And no where to add the tracking number,I gave it to the Ebay rep on the phone,Who said that the system was refusing to put in the tracking number,But put it down in a message?
I I am afraid that i might lose my money now,Especially if the seller ignores my refund like they ignored my messages.
Has anyone else come across something like this?
Thankyou for any replies i may get,Val.
It sounds as though you opened an ordinary return request, instead of a "not as described" case under eBay's money back guarantee.
If so, you may still be able to open one, through the resolution centre.
A case must be opened within 30 days after the actual or latest estimated delivery date. EBay would have required the seller to send you a prepaid return label, but as you have already returned it you can instead enter your tracking or delivery number to prove delivery. After 8 days the option will appear to escalate the case for eBay to step in, if necessary. If still unresolved, escalate it, and don't agree to close the case before you have your refund.
If it's already beyond eBay's 30 day time limit you can still file a dispute under Paypal's longer, 180 day buyer protection policy, see: https://www.paypal.com/uk/smarthelp/article/what-if-i-didn%27t-receive-my-item-or-it%27s-not-as-adve...
