What counts is whether the item location was stated as being in the UK, or China?

Many sellers in China have a distribution base in the UK. If it was listed as UK stock, and it was faulty, eBay will require the seller to send you a prepaid return label to their UK address if they want the item back.

If you imported it direct from China then despite what the rules say you may have to pay the return postage yourself, if it's worth the cost. EBay's system of prepaid return labels only covers UK returns.

The above assumes that you followed eBay's procedures correctly, and opened a case under eBay's money back guarantee. If you give us so little information - no item location, no dates, no explanation of what return procedure you followed - it's impossible to give you a complete rely.

If an item is faulty, you go to the resolution Centre (link at the bottom of every page) and open  an Item Not as Described case.

The seller provides a return label, you do not pay the return postage. Read up on the eBay money back guarantee, it is on every listing
