I purchased an item in May the seller very kindly said he would hold onto it until we could travel to pick it up. I can't find the sellers details or get into purchase history. Can someone help please?
You say that you couldn't get into your Purchase History, but what exactly has gone wrong? Are you getting an error message when you try to access your Purchase History, or is it just a case of nothing responding when you try to pull up the drop-down menu? If you click on the down arrow where it says "See Items From Last 60 Days" then you should see an option to change the date range. Click on the down arrow to pull up the drop-down list. If you can get that list up click on the 2020 option and it shoud give you the option to search every single purchase that you made on eBay on or after Wednesday 1st January 2020. If so then at some point you ought to be able to locate the item in question, so if you do manage to find it then either print off the page or write down the seller's User ID and the item listing number and run an Advanced Search using either one of those two forms of information.
In the event that you still cannot find the transaction in question after trying what I suggested above then log into your PayPal account and search all transactions from 2020 to see if you can identify the transaction in question from the list of purchases there. You should also have received an e-mail from eBay in your e-mail account when you paid for the item - check your e-mail account and see if you can find that e-mail. If you can find the e-mail that eBay sent you when you made the purchase then you should see a photo of the item in question, along with the item listing number and the seller's User ID. Either print off the page, or if you do not have a printer just write down the sellers' User ID, as well as the item listing number, and then run a search for the seller using the Advanced Search and try to contact the seller that way by clicking on the seller's User ID and sending him/her a message in relation to the item.
In the event that you get no response from the seller then you will have to open a case via PayPal to try and get your money back, so long as you haven't run out of time to do so. You've left it too long to get a refund via eBay, but so long as the item was purchased less than one hundred and eighty days ago then you're still within time to open a PayPal case in the event that the seller refuses to respond. Therefore, if the seller refuses to reply to your messages and you haven't already run out of time to open a PayPal case in relation to this transaction then open a PayPal case and escalate it after two days but before the twenty day cut-off point. If you do that then you should stand a chance of getting your money back. However, if you've left it too long to open a PayPal case and the seller won't respond to your e-mails then I'm afraid he's got your money in full and your chances of being able to get it back again are pretty bleak to say the least.
