Hello , where do I stand on a purchase I made back in August for a genuine Louis Vuitton belt that I've since found to be a counterfeit and the seller is still selling the same belt over and over as a genuine LV belt and using the same receipt he emails to you to 'prove it is genuine ' and the same photos . He's leading people to believe he's selling one belt that he bought from himself . This belt was a Christmas present for someone and now I'm left with a very expensive fake . What can I do
You may still be able to open a case in Paypal but you have to pay to return to the seller but you can sign up to Returns on us and you may have your postage reimbursed.
You have 180 days from date of sale so check if you are still in time.
You are too late to open ebay or paypal case,
if it was UK business seller, report to Trading standards.
As the first two responses contradict each other regarding being able to file a Paypal dispute, the exact time limit is 180 days from the date of payment.
PayPal may require some form of independent verification that the belt is counterfeit.

Unlike eBay, PayPal requires the buyer to pay for the return postage, unless you first register for their (free) "Return shipping on us" service, see: https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/refunded-returns
You have 180 days from purchase date in which to open a case in PayPal, so you may still be in time.
If so and if you have written confirmation from LV that the belt is indeed a fake, you will be instructed to destroy it (it is illegal to send known fakes through the post) and you'll be refunded in full once you've proven that that has been done.
If you do not have written confirmation from LV, you will have to return the belt at your expense. However, if PayPal are still running their 'returns on us' scheme, you may be able to lodge a claim with them for a postage refund using your Proof of Posting receipt. Check their website for details. And do report the seller to LV with the information you have. LV will investigate, and advise Ebay accordingly.
