Hi,
I recently checked and all my listings with variations which showing the size in inches are now showing some weird looking characters.
I also checked the other sellers listings and the entire ebay site seam to be affected.
Anybody noticed something similar ?
Please check for example any random seller listing for grey mailing bags which supposed to show variations in inches in drop down menu, it's now showing some strange stuff.
Tried different browsers, same problem, or is it just me ?

It's an "escape character" problem. The double quotation mark character - often used to signify inches - has a special meaning in HTML so is often escaped for output. " (or just ") is one of the possible escape sequences for a double quotation mark (it is decimal code 34 in Unicode). For some reason it is being double-escaped so eBay are displaying the escape code instead of a double quotation mark.

Outputs as:
"
That is how it is supposed to work but eBay are double-escaping the output in multi-variation listings.
