maybe in the previous years i got like 1 person a year asking me for cheaper postage . now i have several a month with even a rude customer saying i am a cheat for charging 5.90 for a medium royal mail parcel .
people are loosing track as to how often postage costs go up these days and i feel ebay is not being helpful in this matter when it comes to business sellers and the fee we get charged on top of it . most of my items get the 10 to 12 % fee on top of postage . in the case where i charged the buyer 5.90 for a medium , 5.25 went to the royal mail label with roughly 65 pence for the fee , i actually think i undercharged a few pence - the customer did purchase and agree and only complained after . due to being in a block of flats i had to take royal mail as evri or yodel would just drop it in a hallway if no one would have been in .
same with small parcels i charge 3.90 - 4.00 , if it goes royal mail that wont cover the cost with the fee on top . not even counting that some would have to buy new boxes and that we use take and ink . only when its possible to send one evri or yodel i can recover some of the cost . yes you can say that we ought to charge more for the item but that way you cant make a sale .
solution - you can see if we buy a label trough ebay how much it costs , this amount should be exempt from having an extra fee charged on top . it is only squeezing sellers to take less profit or buyers to pay more in costs . as a big corporation you only shoot yourself in the foot by missing out on sales . more revenue would come in with increased sales .
