changing from private to business

Hi, i am changing from a successful private account to a business account.

Presumably some of you will have done similar(recently), how did you find out how to adapt your account details, amend listings, carry over feedback etc?

Is there any kind of video guidance out there that maybe highlights the differences between the two types of account? 

Obviously i already have private account details, and my listings are very good and successful, so i think all i need to do is make relatively minor adjustments to be compliant.

However, i am finding articles available on eBay help to be difficult to follow, not answering the questions that i have , advice being incomplete etc.

I am making changes to my account details, and i don't know what impact these changes will have on my  listings due to lack of clarity in the advice. For example, i am not even sure whether my business name(following my amendments) will appear as my personal name, my current user name or some other name (the details for which i have yet to enter).

So, i am hoping that somebody will be able to point me in the right direction and save me a lot of trial and error?

You won't see any difference to your account apart from your business details will be displayed and mandatory change of mind returns being offered to comply with consumer laws.

All of your feedback and listings will transfer over ( although I can't see any listings on this account.

Your buyers will not be subjected to the additional BPF which private sellers have added to the price of their items and you can choose any postage method ( with tracking is preferred and recommended).

You will now pay fees to list so it's worth reading up on the fee structure and working out which is best for you and how many listings you need.

As far as I can see - this account is now a business account.

Your business details are your name and from what I can assume is your personal address.

Can't see any listings live on this account though.

Transfer what over? You keep the same account, you only need to populate the business information section of your profile. Note that eBay may have done this automatically as your details already appear on your about page.

One tip - find the postage policies section in your account and set up your own postage preferences e.g Evri under 1kg with 1 day dispatch.  Or you can just opt to use the pre-set eBay ones but I found they didn't suit me terribly well.  You will just need to use these on the listings as you relist. Your actual listings should otherwise just be as they were when you make them active again.
