For those who have contacted me about promoting on you-tube, today`s topic
is faceless or face videos to advertise your product.
Works best for those who have websites, but guess it could be used here with a
shorter video.
Faceless - All the viewer sees are your hands and the product. So they may
have no idea you are the content creator or if you have copied from elsewhere.
If you do faceless, make sure to use a clear bright background. Over exposing
the lighting can help. 1080p or great helps with the quality.
Face - Something I started doing over the last year is to come out from hiding
behind the camera and put myself out there for all to see. Talking into a lens can
seem a little tricky at 1st. My advise which goes against the advise from other creators
is to not read from a script which makes your voice sound robotic. Imagine having
a friend stood behind the camera and you are having a casual natter with them.
A £30-£40 external mic will help a lot.
A sense of humour, can help lighten things up. I often throw in the odd joke and
mock myself with play on words. I guess getting behind the mic in front of an
audience at poetry and story telling nights has helped with my confidence.
Anyway, here is a freeze frame from my latest video , modelling a cap I sell.
Once again having a little joke with those watching. Got rid of the watermarks
and logos in case anyone thinks its free advertising. Gone over 4000 subscribers
now, so not worried about a few more seeing me.
Update on you-tube sales. Yesterday a £450 sale from someone who saw my video
and she had told all her friends about me..
The other week after a £800+ sale, the guy rang me to say he watches all my videos
and will in the future make all his purchases from me.
Once again , costs nothing to get started. Things that cost can be added as you build confidence

He looks like a vlogger and doing a pretty good job at that.
My videos are set up demos , reviews and general chit chat, where its
much better to see the person. I see Ricky does a mix, where in his cases
either side of the camera works.
For me, my videos generate at a guess £2-5k+ plus per month in extra sales.
So it deffo works for me standing in front of camera.
