Well that was an expensive mistake - coupon fail!

I created a £10 off coupon code for my high spend customers, and failed to make it private or to set a minimum spend before you are eligible for the discount.  Serves me right for working too late into the night when I was tired!  I sent it to two specific high spend customers and woke up to find 9 orders who had all used the coupon on repeat orders.  I had set the coupon to one use per customer but one customer made 6 repeat purchases and used the code every time.  Bless her she has also messaged me and asked if there was any error with the discounts as she'd not want me to lose money.  So I assume the "one use per customer" is just from a single transaction point of view, not separate repeat customer purchases in one day.

Also for public coupons, how did others get the code - does ebay automatically display it on my shop banner on on every listing?  I looked at the settings again and it only lets you choose public or private, and not where the discount is displayed.  I also wondered if those coupon bot sites had got hold of it too.

In some ways I was lucky, I could have been cleaned out overnight.  I have honoured each sale as it was my mistake and cancelling a raft of orders could have damaged my seller status, but I've lost about £100 profit.  Ouch!!!!
