A handy tip for those who have started you-tube product videos , or thinking
about starting is to embrace the mistakes. Don`t hide them and re-take.
(unless you use some x-rated language)
Guess this is more for those like me who put themselves in front of the camera.
We are all human. So in everyday chats with friends you are not going to be
word perfect and they will still fully understand what you are trying to say.
It adds to your personality when creating content. Reminds watchers you are a real
person and not the dreaded ai voice over.
I recently have even started adding the odd outtake clips to the end of the some videos.
And also, daft as it sounds, I throw in wording errors on purpose to lighten up
the video. Having stood in front of a real life audience at open mic sessions did help.
Examples of planned errors includes saying constructions instead of instructions
and for my photo related content will replace vignetting with vinegaretting
OK, adding , or keeping errors to the odd video wont be applicable to
all types of content. To some creators it has to be highly polished content with
zero errors and perfect editing. But I like to be myself.
BTW, just had another £125 sale after the customer emailed me to say thanks
for the video helping them chose the right product.
Will keep repeating - It costs nothing but time to get started. External mics and
editing software can be added later.
