People may not know this, if your item sold and listed with the simple delivery option. You can not make any changes to the Postal service or change the time from 48 to 24 or even try to see the buyers address. Not possible!
The only way is to Cancel the listing and select Custom postage from the Ebay App. ( not using a pc). Also ebay will not refund the simple delivery label cost if the seller chooses not to use it if a listing is not cancelled and the seller some how uses their own postage label without cancelling the sale. (Ebay have become very unfair platform now)

Maybe I misunderstood the text/took it out of context . Wasn’t trying to twist anything. Perhaps someone can clarify then
but here you go - this is where I read it
Under frequently asked questions
courier and postage rates
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sellercentre/postage/simple-delivery
We’ve negotiated postage rates with Royal Mail and Evri to provide you and your buyers with competitive rates that include tracking for your item, as well as full item protection.
When creating a listing, you'll see an estimated delivery cost for standard home delivery. You can choose to pay for postage and offer your buyers free delivery, or have your buyer pay for it when they purchase your item. We may periodically give promotional offers for delivery cost discounts, including free postage. Delivery costs may change based on the item's final sale price.
After the sale, you can check the delivery cost paid by the buyer in the Order Details, Postage labels section in My eBay, your order confirmation, and postage label invoice. If your buyer selects an express delivery service instead, they'll pay the full delivery cost, and you won't be charged.
There are no transaction fees applied to the delivery costs when using the prepaid delivery label that comes with Simple Delivery.

Your on a different page, not understanding the moral of the story.
Hundreds of users are complaining about simple delivery including the title.
Simple delivery Does not Refund you the seller who is charging and cannot be Ammended or cancelled. Who wants to refund postage back to the buyer when that cost is occuring at sellers end. If the seller wants to post using next day and not Evri as SD says you can’t. There is no right way of doing this Ebay have totally made a mess.

I think it's you who doesn't understand how Simple Delivery works and are trying to bend it to suit you.

Follow the yellow brick road. Good luck to you. Don’t bother replying when you don’t understand the question.

@edwardian-dreams Just answer this, Item sold Ebay have SD on the item via Royal mail 24, Ebay then send me a label of Royal mail 48. Buyer says I want it next day. HOW DO I CHANGE THE SIMPLE DELIVERY TO MEET BUYERS DEMAND?
HOW DOES THE SELLER GET THE POSTAGE COST BACK TO CHOOSE ANOTHER POSTAGE COMPANY?
no one is bending any rules some seller here have very little knowledge about SD but choose to comment.

Don't even bother trying to reason with them, just delete your listings and move them somewhere else.
More importantly stop buying on ebay and let them stew. They'll be happy when we're gone and they get on with selling over-priced $10,000 handbags to each other, without all our tat cluttering up their site.
It was private sellers that made ebay big enough and safe enough for businesses to move in on and live off and we can do it again. Just by ignoring ebay and repeating the process somewhere else, where we don't have to put up with this cr*p.

If eBay had Royal Mail 24 as an option (the express delivery) and buyer didn’t chose that buyer can’t then change their mind
if you got a 48 label that’s what buyer chose
if you wanted to satisfy the buyer and send “next day” service or some other method ie special delivery sd doesn’t allow you to do that and if you do that’s at your own risk because you will have to claw back the postage from the buyer somehow if you don’t use the SD label
next day as in RM’s “next day” doesn’t exist anyway in SD
its 24…which can take more than 24 hours
as to your comment about people chosing to comment without havin any knowledge of SD
that’s quite blimmin rude
as NO ONE has complete knowledge of a system that changes day by day and isn’t clear totally anyway …you included it seems

Your explaination is like file in the recycle bin. Pointless, does not answer the problem. Ebay has become worst place to sell now. Forcing people to use SD and locking sellers. Feel sorry for seller and buyers. Time to leave Ebay!

Having read all of your posts it appears you have little or no understanding of Simple Delivery.
What I suggest you do rather than keep making innaccurate responses that will confuse other members who are also not conversant with Simple Delivery is read the following information by following these links.
You are registered as a private seller whose account is designed for ocassional sellers of personal unwanted items not for sellers of multiple items acquired for resale - the system is designed to make selling easy on ebay for those genuine private sellers who do not have the trappings of a business such as specialised thermal label printers,
Simple delivery allows the buyer to choose the class of delivery, it is no longer a seller concern.
- a private seller no longer has to worry about the postage cost, postage payment, the delivery company, measuring and weighing the package, all they have to worry about is dispatching within three days packaged as advised by ebay.
Once dispatched and scanned into the carrier's system ebay take responsibility during transit - the seller is protected from poor feedback relating to the delivery and is covered for loss or damage in transit
If a buyer chooses the wrong class of postage - they can cancel and reorder or pay the seller for a new label and automatically be refunded by ebay for the incorrect postage ordered, no stress for the seller.
It is entirely geared to the buyer being responsible for choosing the class of ebay postage - this couldn't be easier for a seller - as long as the seller dispatches within three days, packaged to ebay standards - the seller's job is done - sit back relax and get paid when delivered.
I believe that those complaining the most are the sellers who are selling 1000's of items - all from their attic ! who have so many personal possesions that they invest in specialist label printers, RM accounts and have regularly purchased multiple numbers of identical items being sold as 'new' from their collections.
If ebay lose these private accounts selling thousands of items over many years then so be it - genuine private sellers will benifit as will genuine business account holders
Of course these private sellers of 1000's of items could register as a business account, pay their fees and choose their own postal carrier, lose the protections and put their thermal printers and packaging methods to use as a business !

Nope. Sorry dch, I don't very often disagree with you but just no..
S.D. does not make life 'easy' for genuine private sellers on ebay.
It's a massive, instrusive, unneccessary p.i.t.a. for people who already know how to sell, pack and post in the most convenient way for *them*.
New (younger generation?) sellers who are used to V inted etc may well be happy to use S.D. and good luck to them! S.D. should be optional so that they can....... not mandatory for all.
It's just forcing a load of square-pegs into round holes, and a lot of said square-pegs are leaving.
(mind you, the poster you're replying to does seem to suffer from 'right man' syndrome, and is extremely deaf to any other opinions or facts other than his own!)

@lucy_farmer Thank you, its super difficult to make everyone understand how painful SD is. Some people keep going on about private sellers, few items etc. Ebay allows 300 listing for Private sellers. Ebay’s foundation was built on Private sellers. You are 100% right. Thank you again for sharing your post with honest feedback.

No, it really isn't. The vast, vast majority on this forum agree with you that SD is painful and not fit for purpose.
But you aren't reading those posts. You're reading the ones from anybody who isn't shouting "I hate SD and I want it gone" and then shouting them down over and over and over and over again with "YOU'RE WRONG I'M RIGHT SD IS THE WORST WHAT YOU SAID IS GARBAGE."
It isn't helping your case.
