Royal Mail!

Is anyone else finding their service pretty unreliable across all services lately?  I appreciate they are changing the delivery frequency on some services, but feels like they have abandoned all post other than parcels already!!

Re: Royal Mail!

Letter services are poor and have been for quite some time.

So regularly seeing issues with these.

However, it's rare that I have a problem with parcels.

Re: Royal Mail!

This seems to depend on where you live.

I am in the north of England (Tyne & Wear) and the only minor complaint I have is that we don't have a permanent postman, and have not had for some time. This often means a delivery about 2-3pm.

However, when a signature is required they always ring the bell and wait, unlike (apparently) most other parts of the country where they seem not to even try to get a signature. Tracked mail is delivered promptly, "before 1pm" mail arrives before 1pm.

Like I say, apart from late-in-the-day delivery, Royal Mail in general suits me fine up here int' north

Re: Royal Mail!

I post all over the country with Tracked 24 and tracked 48. No problems at all.

The letter services are very slow. first class is up to four days. second class can be a week and more.

Re: Royal Mail!

I can cope with Royal Mail taking their time. We expect no rush with 2nd class, but ebay seems to think otherwise and likes to cause issues.

It's farce. I change the post to check for delivery to Jersey and still the exact same estimes.

Re: Royal Mail!

Yup terrible. Delays everywhere. It's a shambles. All my International and parcel post was moved away from them 18 months ago. Best decision I ever made.

Re: Royal Mail!

I have had a buyer open up a not received request today because eBay promised him a 2nd class item I posted on Monday would arrive the next day!

Re: Royal Mail!

Yes it’s a double edged sword, eBay over promising and Royal Mail under delivering,  how will eBay estimates cope with deliveries every other day and no weekend deliveries on certain services?!!

Re: Royal Mail!

I do tracked 48 but have noticed on mine that  they (eBay ) expect a item to arrive next day which is very weird - no idea who or what is expecting a item bought the night before to arrive the day after.

Re: Royal Mail!

Same with a tracked 48 a few nights ago. They paid the night before to expect an item to arrive the next day.

Re: Royal Mail!

I despatched an item, 2nd Class, on July 10 and it arrived July 21.  Printed label, address correct, all the QR and barcodes.

Hopeless.  The buyer was disappointed, but fortunately understanding, and has purchased again.
