Royal Mail Changes to Second Class Delivery 28th July 2025

Has there been any information from eBay re RM changes from today in that Second Class deliveries will now be every alternate day and no Saturday deliveries.

I cannot see any announcements and hope they are going to change the Estimated Delivery Dates. 😖

This is what is so annoying, I keep getting INR cases which eBay are allowing to be opened 2 days from purchase which is absolutely mental, RM 2nd class is not ever going to be delivered in that timeframe even if the above wasn’t happening 😂 eBay’s response, send tracked… so my buyers either pay £2.70 on items below £20 which would just destroy my business, no one would pay that for postage on a £5 card for example…

Its getting to the point that I dont think we can continue our business on ebay and amazon due to the metrics going through the roof due to what appears 10 day delivery now for 2nd class letter post. We cant afford to send tracked as no one would pay £2.70 for tracked post on an item say £7 cost. Its time to find another career than online selling.

Our postie didn't arrive until 3.30 pm normally the post arrives around one. He told us he had started the round with 150 parcels and still had to leave some behind as there was no more room in the van.  After us he still had 30 more to deliver.

RM have only taken on a couple of temp staff for the Xmas period which is just not enough to cover the sheer volume of mail expected at this time of year.

Checking the tracking on something I was expecting yesterday it shows it's still stuck at Glasgow when normally it would have arrived at the local depot the same day.

I really do find that sending a polite email when I dispatch, clearly explaining the true expected delivery date, really helps avoid INR cases.

Just keep a template letter you can copy and paste if you sell large numbers.

I tell my customers they can expect to wait up to 2 weeks now for a letter or large letter and most are fine once they know.

Anything bigger than a large letter, I now send Tracked48 as it's only 5p more at the moment.

eBay now seem to be hiding my listings at a rate of at least 1 a week with their false claims of counterfeit goods so that's my new battle!!
