I gave negative feedback to a seller for what he/she claimed i have not checked the parts comparrison chart !! I had done a comparrison check and the photo on the listing was what i wanted . I recieved a item that was poor quality and was not the item i ordered . They said i was in the wrong and would have to pay postage . lol.... My issue is how has my feedback dissapeared and if they have managed to get Ebay to remove it and have done this for other neg feedback how does that give a true representation of a company selling **bleep** !! how does that protect buyers or should i say how does it help a buyer to make up their mind whether to buy from them . If ebay has removed it then they should be giving the buyer the oppertunity to have it reinstated for good reason otherwise ebay are covering up bad sales practices.

Here is a conversation with a seller that tried to charge me 27% because i took the tags off an item that was smaller than others i have from the same brand. Maybe the goods were counterfit, i don't know. But 27% for removing a tag is dreadful. Even more dreadful is eBay removing my negative feedback. Yes i got my money back, except for the postage back, but the entire experience was negative but I am not allowed to voice this. Look at the exact feedback i left below, is this unfair? Not in my opinion.
eBay used to be a decent platform to buy and sell, they messed up selling with ridiculous high fees and now buyers feedback is deleted/withdrawn without any explanation. Very poor eBay, very poor, just like the seller who can now operate with impunity. I wont be using your site again, there are others more honest, with more honest sellers.

I will be leaving negative feedback for this transaction."Item smaller than expected; unfair return policy"I bought this expecting the size to match similar items I own from this brand, but it ran much smaller. I did cut the tags off but returned them with the item, assuming it wouldn’t be an issue. However, the seller charged for return postage and deducted 27% from my refund, which felt unfair. The high return costs made this experience disappointing, so I’d advise future buyers to be aware of these policies before purchasing.

Unfortunately the offer still stands I'm afraid definitely not something I wanted to do. Even if the tags could be attached back I would have offered a full refund but the way it's been cut I am unable to attach it back. I could use a different thread and try but then customers would think the item is fake. I take on board you are unhappy but you also need to see this from the sellers sideKind regards

Final answer?

The tags have been cut from both items. Unfortunately it is not in the same condition as was sent. We will be lucky if we will even be able to sell these without tags. Majority of the retailers wouldn't even refund and would be sending the item back to you without a refund. As a business returns are part and parcel and we would have been more than happy to refund the item in full had the tags still been presentKind regards

27% ? No idea how you have come up with this figure. Very unhappy, suggest you reconsider this.

Today

If this seller makes a forced deduction then the guidelines are detailed in the link 'deductions' at bottom of this post/
If a forced deduction is made contact ebay cs on phone and remonstrate - explaining the item was not as described due to incorrect size stated on label - they will probably pay you the amount deducted.
If the seller makes an offer of a partial refund you can refuse
item not as described - incorrect size (based on it being a different size to similar product size from this manufacturer - incorrect label size )- seems to be the correct reason for return in which case the seller pays return and will have to refund the original price paid including postage less any deduction up to 50% if allowed to do so - should be no more than 10% according to guidelines
Good condition:
Missing original packaging
Factory or vacuum seal is broken/opened but the item is still in its original condition
Original tags included but unattached
5%–10% deduction
Sellers may not use this protection to recoup market losses on items returned in the same condition or recoup return postage and/or restocking costs

"Not the greatest shopping experience."
Earlier this year, I left the above as negative feedback and it disappeared within 24 hours! So, those who bring up breaking eBay rules are talking absolute rubbish.
Oh, and one more thing. Over the last 12 months, I've come across more and more sellers (both private and business) failing to accurately describe their listings - in many cases, deliberately. I'm sure instead of addressing this growing issue, eBay will penalise buyers instead... because it's more convenient to do so.

You're right. The whole dispatch process is starting to really aggravate. A seller can immediately mark as dispatched on, lets say a 48 hour. The item sits on their shelf for another 3 days until it really is dispatched. Ebay's due date then covers them by allowing for the 3 days it sat on a shelf!!! Quick dispatch algorithm is beaten & the buyer lied to. Some of the couriers even have useless tracking statements like, "on it's way to yodel, or royal mails "the sender has dispatched the item". What does any of that even mean??? The seller's walking down the street with a parcel in their hand???

And more negative feedback immediately disappears. This happened today.
This time around: "Awful and dishonest seller. Best avoided."
This seller was reported and CS acknowledged various red flags in how they handled the transaction, yet the negative feedback (with no mention of a refund, opening a case or eBay intervention) is now gone.

You are so so right even today I've had a conversation with agents and they have basically lied lied and lied again at one time when you phone eBay in the UK you got eBay Ireland now you get eBay Philippines eBay Mexico they are like robots reading for a cheque list no thinking I started selling on eBay 20 years ago in the bad old days and then they started to improve now they've gone full circle back they are definitely in trouble instead of fixing it they are making matters worse they have lose some real big players in the game like Tesco's and Argos big even medium-sized businesses are migrating to other platforms or their own websites in 5 to 10 years time you'll be saying do you remember that online platform eBay

this is the thing there is no level playing field private sellers are one up on you at the start with no fees its as if eBay are living from day to day and forget the future

When leaving Neg feedback - DO NOT RUN DOWN OF SLAG-OFF A SELLER. this will get your feedback removed under the slander act.
For an item that you haven't received - Just stay something like :-
"item not received after allowing sufficient time for delivery."
or for an item that was not as you expected:-
"Item not as described. Not happy."
Do not say in your feedback "had to open case with eBay to get refund" - This will get your feedback removed as eBay don't like cases and disputes mentioned in feedback.
Hope that this helps.

No, it doesn't help. I'm sorry, but someone has to point out the elephant in the room.
From what I've seen, eBay's policy for the removal of negative feedback is very much arbitrary and doesn't follow any clear rules. If nothing else, experience has shown me that the automatic removal of negative feedback is to protect large volume sellers. What a disgruntled buyer says and how they say it has very little relevance, especially when the main concern (for both eBay and dishonest sellers) is to suppress the truth.
IMO, most negative feedback removal isn't about breaching eBay's rules, it's about protecting seller reputations (no matter how dubious the seller is). Every other explanation given is merely a (very) lame form of deflection/projection.
For example, there's one seller I know who regularly receives neutral and negative feedback. I have had the displeasure of dealing with this seller and their descriptions are not always honest. To make matters worse, they almost never reply to messages. Although this seller's feedback is currently at 99%, I have seen over a dozen counts of unflattering feedback removed this year alone. Can you honestly tell me that this is because each and every one breached eBay's rules? I highly doubt it.
So, to you and others who believe in eBay's covert policies and guidelines, I say this: please open your eyes and stop drinking the Kool-Aid.

The few Chinese UK warehouses that are left are full of dodgy stuff. eBay has slowly become just another agent for those warehouses. Most things I search for are just an endless list of stuff out of these warehouses. Listing after listing of the same item, from the same warehouse with a different seller name. eBay has become pointless!!!
