Negative feedback given but has disappeared

I gave negative feedback to a seller for what he/she  claimed i have not checked the parts comparrison chart !! I had done a comparrison check and the photo on the listing was what i wanted . I recieved a item that was poor quality and was not the item i ordered . They said i was in the wrong and would have to pay postage . lol.... My issue is how has my feedback dissapeared and if they have managed to get Ebay to remove it and have done this for other neg feedback how does that give a true representation of a company selling **bleep** !! how does that protect buyers or should i say how does it help a buyer to make up their mind whether to buy from them . If ebay has removed it then they should be giving the buyer the oppertunity to have it reinstated for good reason otherwise ebay are covering up bad sales practices.

There are feedback rules to follow,  and using the word fake in a feedback,   is not allowed and the seller can ask for its removal.

It's not allowed,  because eBay do not see the actual item,  and the feedback could be from a disgruntled buyer, or even from a competitor selling the same item wishing to besmirch the seller's listing,  which would put off many a buyer from buying from that seller.

You received a fake,  of course you wish to leave feedback,  but stating something like ...   very disappointed to receive something that just didn't match the description or the photos would have remained,  and warned others too.  Stating anything about a case or refund, any eBay involvement is not allowed in feedbacks.

If this resulted in a case for a refund and the seller receives a few of these,  it raises red flags to eBay and they may well then,  be removed from the site.

Feedback does little,  but cases do have results.

I'm wondering can the CMA do anything about eBay now charging their fellow sellers such ridiculously high selling fees lately ?... A few weeks ago I sold an item for £82.50 plus £8.95 postage and eBay took  over £12.00 in fees for that item !!! - I feel that £6.00 should/would have been more fairer... not a whopping £12.00 !!! 😞

all very well and good, but at the same time as removing my feedback they removed all of the sellers fake items so they clearly dont need to actualy examine an item to know its fake

interestingly have had a recent similar thing with regards to ebay removing negative feedback.bought new electronic shock absorbers from a "trusted" seller with more than 700 positive reviews.cheap and yes was to good to be true but being sold as units built using oem quality parts. with 2 years gaurantee, contacted the seller to explain the issues (shock absorbers throwing error codes) provided proof and was aked to pay £45 for the delivery of replcements.refusing they aggreed to supply at no cost to me.on recieving, there was a returns note from another buyer stating the part was no longer required.that part was also defective.i was ofered a refund  but only recieved 50% ,the rest was marked as seller deduction!!!! when .questioned i was asked to raise a dispute with ebay for the balance to be returned.my negative feedback highlighted all of this but has been removed.how is ebay going forward going to keep this as an honest trading platform?

it would seem that ebay are protecting sellers, i suppose if we stopped buying on their platform there are always other mugs caught to be out by dodgy sellers whereas if the kicked off dodgy sellers ebay would lose all the selling fees, certainly not as fair as they used to be

This happened to me the feedback was their and when I checked later it was gone. The Seller didn't even dispatch the item after 8 days absolutely ridiculous. I will chased this up as ebay seems to be messing around with feedback. The fact a Seller can no longer leave negative feedback is very bad. At this rate people will stop shopping with ebay and look elsewhere.

But it's not a fair picture especially the Seller I dealt with has only been on ebay for 2 years. If you lie then I would but if you didn't even post the item after a week then the negative feedback is deserved. Ebay obviously doesn't care as long as they are making money period.

Same here, pointed out one particular seller as a scammer, feedback removed. This website seems to behave as if listing an item for sale with zero stock is acceptable - and there there is no way of reporting a scammer either.

As a result I am reluctant to spend money in here again.

Probably its your fault an unfair .Some of you give basd feedback for the most  petty reasons and this is peoples livley hood.

Yeah, I hear you, it's very sad especially when they make so much in fees from you. I would use Shpock but it seems to be playing up at the moment. The fact you can no longer leave negative feedback for a buyer is wrong and also very unfair. You can report anyone tbh but they always say they will never disclose the outcome so that process is pretty pointless. I don't think people would still use eBay if they were successful selling else well. There are other places to sell but if their free people will try and ask for discounts so it gets tiresome. I.e. UK based Nextdoor, Gumtree and Sphock.

I have said many times in this thread that any defence of eBay's feedback removal just turns out to be nonsensical drivel. Your comment is the same. I have 70 plus screenshots I took of a particular eBay sellers feedback. All negatives removed and I would take a screenshot every time they were. The vast majority never contained anything eBay defenders have bought up as a breach!!!

Hi,

Always check their feedback score and how long they have been selling on ebay. Tbh you can get alot of decent stuff on their from good Sellers but unfortunately theirs always a bunch of doughnuts looking to make a fast buck.

Don't forget your covered by ebay as long as you pay on the site.
