Negative feedback given but has disappeared

I gave negative feedback to a seller for what he/she  claimed i have not checked the parts comparrison chart !! I had done a comparrison check and the photo on the listing was what i wanted . I recieved a item that was poor quality and was not the item i ordered . They said i was in the wrong and would have to pay postage . lol.... My issue is how has my feedback dissapeared and if they have managed to get Ebay to remove it and have done this for other neg feedback how does that give a true representation of a company selling **bleep** !! how does that protect buyers or should i say how does it help a buyer to make up their mind whether to buy from them . If ebay has removed it then they should be giving the buyer the oppertunity to have it reinstated for good reason otherwise ebay are covering up bad sales practices.

Good job, but be careful, eBay doesn't like being so openly - and with evidence - criticised and you can end up with a ban on posting here...

Previous negative that I posted has already been removed & another one added that again describes exactly what I stated before. Nothing is their responsibility & down to manufacturer.

Sounds to me like the seller may well be a drop shipper. If so he's reliant on the manufacturer sending out the correct item and may well never have actually seen the item for himself.

Either way, not good.

Yes, definitely a drop shipper. Not a problen in itself if they took responsibility knowing they have no real clue as to what is being shipped. They currently have yet another negative about a plastic plant that was an incorrect size & they refused to do anything about it. Not a problem for them, they will soon make that negaive disappear!!!

I just received the most ridiculous email ever. Ebay just told me that I now have help from their team of experts 24/7!!! "Click now for expert help". I clicked & guess what? The help isn't from a team of experts, it's from expert sellers!!!!!!!!!!!! That means my help could be from the seller I've been monitoring that is now back up to 5 negatives that will soon disappear. Including 2 that perfectly match mine, & others descriptions of this seller!!!! Has ebay totally lost the plot???

Cor Blimey!!!! Another 2 today for this 100% positive seller!!!

Bought an ancol halti for my dog took him out with it on and it broke straight away. Contacted seller no apology for nearly loosing my dog and no refund offered either. Poor item and even worse customer service would not use this company ever again.

A very strange update to this ongoing saga. One of the seven negatives disappeared yesterday but they've actually replied to the first negative in my previous comment. They've accused the buyer of messaging profanities & racist abuse & this is the negative they can't get rid of??? Will be interesting to see if they just replied out of anger but they can make it disappear anyway!!! Very weird!

I very rarely use the community help board as nothing is ever resolved and the continued converations only add the angst I already feel so its easier just to not let it get personal, accept that Big $ Ebay will do what they do and get on with life.

What is interesting is that in virtually every other problem that I have seen talked about here, the 'Community Experts' will defend Ebay to the hilt despite clear evidence that some of their procedures are at the very least questionable and yet this subject has the experts hiding under their duvets and staying clear of what is clearly a 'burn your fingers' subject.  Their lack of involvement on this subject just adds to the suspicion that their claims of being unpaid or unrewarded for continually backing Ebay would leave other readers wanting to leave a Negative Feedback for the experts !!!

I'm not sure if it was in this thread or a similar one, an "expert" did pipe up & say there could be 3 reasons a negative would be removed by eBay. Not one of those reasons even came close to applying to the negatives removed. That expert disappeared without a trace!!! I'm still very curious to know if this is eBay's doing or the seller has found "a way". I'm now up to 67 screenshots since the 24.11.21 of their ever changing negative profile. Regarding my last comment about them replying to negatives, they do & then they disappear anyway. This is still a 100% seller that recently had 5 (FIVE) negatives in one day, many of which are about their ridiculous customer service, which started me on this journey. I only check every few days now so I porbably miss some but 30.03.22, they had 6 & today 8, but they've had 4 new negatives as 2 of the previous 6 disappeared & were replaced. I'm starting to believe that eBay is slowly dying in the UK as far as products are concerned. The feedback of Chinese UK warehouse sellers seems to have dropped from 98-99% to 95-97%. I'm into DIY related products & there seem to be less & less items I'm looking for. It could just be me but I seem to be finding way more of what I want on aliexpress & have to use them despite their confusing & way longer delivery times!!!!

AliExpress is a nightmare I had one item from them arrived after 7 weeks
and was the wrong colour. I chose to claim my refund through paypal which
is much easier.
My problem relates to a UK based bookseller who basically has little of no
stock, has his orders fulfilled by Amazon and so is basically a drop
shopper. He suckers people in by charging a little bit more than others
selling the same book but he offers Royal Mail 48 hour tracked delivery,
and then relys on Amazon shipping it to the customer on time. His 450,000
feedback hides that he averages 24 negative/neutral feedbacks EVERY month,
so he has a rating of 97.5% !!!
Dont let it get to you too much, there is little you can do about it

At least the seller you're talking about has a low feedback rating. The shop I'm talking about is also a drop shipper, probably gets more than 24 negatives a month, has terrible customer service & has a 100% positive seller rating!!!

Becasue the case was found in the sellers favour.Also sound like your one of those buyers that only leave negatives (and quite often) never positives.The seller must of been in the right on each occassion you left negatives.

Yes and pretty rich coming from someone who already has 7 negatives this year ...  and disputes most of them with his replies... "The seller must of been in the right on each occassion you left negatives" .. so one would have to assume the buyer was right each time you were left a negative.    Sometimes its better not to put your head above the parapet LOL !

leave no feedback rather than a negative. You're beginning to sound like
one of those sellers that thinks customers should be happy with dodgy
overpriced products and shoddy service!!!

I just left negative feedback for a seller who tried to scam me. They are an eBay "top rated" seller. I returned an item (within two hours of it arriving), had to chase for a refund once it was proven it had been delivered and they agreed to full refund. Only to find they'd tried to keep the original item and half my money! They stated it was damaged. I was livid! I opened an eBay case, they determined the seller had acted against their own policies (by not discussing any issue and no agreement for partial refund) and yet the seller has been allowed to remove my feedback. This is insane!!'

How are people supposed to know who is legitimate and who is not?! It's the same as not being able to leave negative feedback for buyers who never pay. Just had one myself....looked down their 100% positive feedback only to find most of it was positive (as no other option for sellers) but said "never pays! Block!" Etc etc
