I gave negative feedback to a seller for what he/she claimed i have not checked the parts comparrison chart !! I had done a comparrison check and the photo on the listing was what i wanted . I recieved a item that was poor quality and was not the item i ordered . They said i was in the wrong and would have to pay postage . lol.... My issue is how has my feedback dissapeared and if they have managed to get Ebay to remove it and have done this for other neg feedback how does that give a true representation of a company selling **bleep** !! how does that protect buyers or should i say how does it help a buyer to make up their mind whether to buy from them . If ebay has removed it then they should be giving the buyer the oppertunity to have it reinstated for good reason otherwise ebay are covering up bad sales practices.

I raised a PayPal claim, said it would be resolved by the 15th December.
If your seller has the word 'special' in his username, then it's the same scammer I'm dealing with

Mine had another 2 negatives today & we'll see how long they stay up!!!

Yep that's the guy. I had a strong suspicion from the start, should've gone with my gut!

Paypal contacted me today saying that they will issue a full refund after I've returned the item to the seller!
This is ridiculous! I have to return a power cable to a scammer costing me £3.60 tracked delivery.
At least I should get my £60 back but this whole process has left a really bad taste in my mouth & really put me off using eBay again, after 17yrs of being a trusted eBay member, extremely disappointed.

I think the more people realise that 100% positive sellers might not really be anywhere near that, it'll put a lot of people off ebay. I can't look at a 100% seller now without thinking, is it really!!!

Wow, that really sucks. I can't believe ebay are enabling these scumbags.

Yeah to be honest I don't think I will use eBay again any time soon unless absolutely necessary (like if I need a spare part that is impossible to get elsewhere). It seems like these scammers are gaming the system and eBay are totally allowing them to get away with it.

If eBay is allowing this to happen, ether by putting many hurdles in the way of leaving a negative, or by not doing anything about the possible software that allows sellers to do this, then eBay is the scammer. Unfortunately, eBay has becme one of the many big companies that feels it's too important to be contacted by us mere peasents so e don't know which it is!!!

Our 'friend' now has 6 live negative feedback on the page. Hopefully things are starting to unravel for this scammer and eBay shut them down.

As a thought can you guys leave a product review for these items purchased ?

Depends on the number of sales.
Don't recall ebay ever shutting someone down based on number of negatives. Breaching metrics, sure. Not on simply having negatives.
One seller had dozens a month - and thousands of sales which made the negatives around 0.1% of sales or less.

So contact them. Multiple methods.
Social media, post, phone....

It's a little more than just the feedback though, the seller is actively sending out a £1 amazon cable to people who have paid £100s for a coffee machine. They are then using the tracking code from amazon to prevent people claiming that the item was not delivered and delay the process further. It's fraud - eBay should shut it down.
Edit: as a bit more context, 6 out of 7 total feedback received in the past 1 month are negative. That's not including the tons of negative feedback that have been removed in just the past couple of weeks.

Then needs more than feedback, need people to report the seller concerned to ebay.
Sadly plenty of people just see the quick emotive response being feedback that changes nothing.

I reported the seller to eBay a few days ago. I'm thinking they've actually taken action as he has no more items for sale & his negative feedback seems to be sticking.
10-12-2021 3:53 PM
I couldn't find a phone number or an email address

Your seller is a bit more than disappearing feedbacks as that seems to proper theft/fraud.

That's a good idea. My seller has had more since my last post & is now down to zero again!!! I found a tool seller because I need a new saw. 100% positive & I thought really? Checked their profile & their 5 star ratings again were 600/700/800 below their sales numbers of 6000odd so I added to saved sellers. 1 nefative has come & gone already in 24 hours. Maybe this is more widespread than we think!!!

The more I see what your experiances are and the attitude ebay have to feedback - it seems that the system is not only broken but being administered based on seller status rather than policy - it seems ebay have totally lost their direction.
They constantly bang on about buyer experiance and opinion being the point of feedback until it comes to favoured sellers when that goes out of the window quickly followed by any policy pubished by ebay
This does not do ebay any favours - the whole issue of credibility, trust and honesty puts ebay in a very bad light - On this account they say all the right things but do exactly the opposite themselves
You would think that the philosophy of 'built on trust' would be a powerful draw for both honest sellers and buyers but when ebay go against this philosophy and manipulate feedback and disregard their own policy to favour some sellers and buyers it breaks all trust in ebay itself
I am amazed they do not follow what they preach - it is little wonder members manipulate policy on ebay to their own advantage - after all they are being led by example by ebay so it must be alright !

I agree, but the jury is still out on whether this is ebay or nefarious software. Chinese or Chinese UK warehouse sellers still have negaitives & you'd think they'd be the first to jump on software like this. On the other side of that coin, some of those sellers have 100.000's of transactions so why would ebay see the 2 UK sellers I'm following as worthy of feedback manipulation? It's all very weird but I'm still intrigued by this!
