I can't believe I'm here again. No email messages, no account warnings, I've been very careful with selected categories and my listings have just dissapeared.
Trying to remember to breathe and stay calm. There goes the relaxing weekend.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Did you manage to speak to someone at eBay? I checked on eBay.com and only 268 listings there.
I have a chat with CS last week, had the poor guy stumped, he passed me through to 'the selling team' - might be worth asking for them instead of repeating yourself! Best of luck, sure it will get sorted.

Deep breath as i can see 276 active listings on the account you are posting on.
How many should there be? Could be yet another Ebay glitch if they disappeared for a while.

792 last night. I can see 275 a minute ago
Theres no logic to the missing listings they're across different product ranges. I'm pretty sure all my listing practices are squeeky clean - I've just had a few weeks on pro trader so everything has been gone over.
I don't have any ebay messages or account warnings. Nothing in email or spam.
Nothing in ended listings which is whats happened when its been an eBay concious removal.

My next question was going to be "any logic to the missing listings".
I fear only Ebay can tell you what has happened 😞
No clues in your completed listings either.....and prob nothing to help showing on your seller dashboard

I had an emergency phone number to call - it was a recorded message saying call in operational hours.
On hold to eBay now - what a start to a Saturday!
Thank you for your responses. Writing it down calms me down from catastrophising.

You are fine and sorry i could not be more helpful

They've said it a known technical blip and they're working on it!
A relief its not me and hopes that I wont have to reinstate all the listings.

I had an issue yesterday morning that was showing nothing on My eBay, no seller level, listings or anything. Couldnt even print off the DPD labels to ship my items. Thankfully it fixed itself but now I have 689 active listings on the desktop but 704 on the app. I really am unsure how eBay can possible mess stuff up on such a regular basis and not make serious improvements on stuff that is actually needed.

I'm still over 500 listings down, no change. I can't see any pattern in the listings that have gone. I did speak to eBay and they have said technical fault but I know when I had listings removed before they said blip relist then it went very sour very quickly. I can't quite settle with it.
Trying to find other things to do.
Friday mornings I don't list/ amend things and the no listings/ realising your on dot com not UK often happens. It tends to resolve within a few screen refreshes, by the time I've had a coffee and processed orders of other sites.

I think I responded yesterday. It's unnerving isn't it. Hopefully it'll be over soon, it's been quite a few hours now.

I noticed Thursday night that my feedback was back to 0 but I just ignored it as other stuff was still there, then Friday morning it was nothing for a good 45 minutes, I had about 5 minutes before I was leaving when it all just appeared again. Hopefully your listings all appear, I dont know why they dont test changes at 2am on a Tuesday morning, least then issues wont cause serious problems, I wont hold my breathe for them fixing it quickly btu least they have admitted an issue.

Now you mention it, last night the number of listings that needed specifics adding had dropped really low. Its difficult in jewellery to fill in all the specifics as lots of them are not relevant and writing n/a 10 times looks bad.
I still had 792 listings because the number was 79 and I thought thats odd its only 10% normally its around 300.

This is my absolute worst fear. With 1600+ listings pretty much all of them one-off with individual photos, relisting would take months. My heart is always in my mouth with my daily 'sell similars' just in case I catch unlucky with a glitch.
I am sending good vibes and bucket loads of empathy your way xxx

Thank you for the good vibes - writing it down helps me stay sane. Reading back what I write reminds me rationally its a blip, this too will pass!
For years I haven't listed on eBay direct and that means I have master listing data held seperately - always looking to find a positive amoungst the despair. I originally used inkfrog - which has nice free build yourself listing templates. I just checked its currently $19/ month for 1500 listings. It links with various websites and stock syncs so you can list same item in several places i.e. your own website and eBay. You then have a saved record and its great for creating new from similar historic listings as you can keep an archive.
My current provider, Selro is a bit more at £69+VAT/ month but does a lot more platforms and has reporting functionality on cross platform sales etc. So is worth the notch up in price.
I can't let this eBay situation rest and distract myself, so I've been delving. My third party software thinks all the listings have been closed in eBay and isn't showing any item numbers but the listings are available in Selro to relist so i have the saved data. It would take days to go through and relist adding videos back in etc.
My eBay doesn't see any listings as ended, they're not in ended listings they just don't show in seller hub. My seller platform listings is only showing 275 but when I search a term within my seller hub I can bring up the ghost listings but they don't exist against their item numbers.
When I copy and paste an item number from one of the phantom listings into search it doesn't bring up the item - it says no exact match found. Likewise I can click through to a listing from a recently sold item, but if I cut and paste the item number I can't bring up the listing, its not in shop, in seller hub or in sellers other items. I can't locate it or any of the ghost items via search either. So they're sort of existing but ghosted and detatched from their item numbers. I've tried editing and saving edits on a ghost item but it is still invisible.
I'm hesitant to do any relisting as thats when I got into hot water with eBay before. I'm sort of hoping that this proves its a technical blip and not an, albeit undeserved, eBay sanction.

Yeah, thank you, all duly noted. I'm currently on a non-ebay related project til the end of July which is taking all my headspace. My aim after that is to finally sort my ebay shop (which is pants), consider setting up my own website and - then - you're right I should also consider some kind of back-up on the listings. I may come back to you then.
Sometimes ebay's tech is just... dumb. I have had listings removed over the years for for using the words barbie and abba (and more, but you catch my drift). The listings could be seen but not edited in anyway. THey also cant be deleted from my ended listings. I had to do them all from scratch, when all that was needed was the removal of Abba or barbie (and I was even instructed to just edit). I just got on with it. I dread to think if they decided the word 'vintage' or something is out of bounds... not that it should happen... but that's the thing about ebay... ...sometimes so dumb.
Anyhow - I truly hope this is sorted soon. I came back to check on you - still 276. What a way to have a weekend spoilt... xxx

Just a thought... you have had a Saturday with 2/3rds of you listings out of action... I'd try and get a goodwill gesture of at least one month free on your shop...

The more hours that pass without other sellers posting similar issues, the more I'm thinking is it something more sinister. Am I on the naughty step, not sure what for though?
I'm fairly sure when I've had a listing removed I've had contact though. After a fair few weeks of upheaval, ultimately I relisted as I originally listed previously.
With something so significant I'd have liked eBay to make some form of contact, after a day, with an update - at present I'm a bit weary to do anything. I just hope that it doesn't roll on into next week. If its not a big glitch, I'm glad for all the other sellers not effected, but they wont be throwing much tech support at it for a tiny minnow like me on a weekend. How to feel insignificant!
As an aside, my daughters just put Britains got talent on the TV and an eBay advert just came on - first one of those I've seen in an age - thats a positive.

Don't tell me... It's FREE to sell pre-loved clothes on ebay?
Not for me it isn't.
Not that I'm moaning - or not just yet - I'm keeping an open mind but....
Fingers crossed for you for tomorrow.

Not the end of the world if you a) regularly manually end and relist or sell similar and b) your items or you stockbook can give you a decent gist of your titles.
I once deleted 55 items - I just did a stocktake, identified the missing listings and searched, I imagine easier with maker's and dates to help, but got them all back in an hour - well three, spent two staring at the screen wonder what to do! Got most of them from eBay and googled some.
Our 1500+ account would be easy, all fits in 3 boxes, and most are named, yours probably fills 3 rooms - so I expect you will have a stockbook or some record that will be titled close to your listing title. So you wouldn't need to redo all from scratch. Though it would take a lot longer than an hour!
And not a good workaround for anyone that auto relists to retain sales figures.

Just wanted to pop in and at least give you my support if nothing else. We haven't had this issue on any account but there are so many major tech issues of late that it's difficult to tell if it's accidental or deliberate on ebay's part. Every function of the site seems to be malfunctioning.
I hope you get things sorted. It's always worse when something happens at the weekend as you've got little chance of getting any help until Monday.

What a hassle and not what you need.
Surely if it was deliberate action by eBay you would have received some form of correspondence from them, or at the very least still be able to access the listings.
When mine were taken down I still had access, albeit with "THIS LISTING HAS POLICY VIOLATIONS" plasted across the top of each one.
So for what it's worth I do think it's a glitch, possibly one not affecting many sellers (yet), but it's absolutely not good enough from eBay.
As you once said to me, there will be a way forward no matter what has happened.
