Messaging - have I missed something?

This is fairly minor in the scale of ebay changes / improvements / updates and generally wrong decisions... but has there been a change to messaging? After a sale, from the item page, I would drop the buyer an ebay message saying Thanks very much etc and that the book / item etc would be posted later that afternoon, tomorrow morning etc... Now, if I click on message buyer, it just goes through to my messages with no sight of the buyer (this is from the specific item page). 

It's only happened once so far (this morning) so it may just be a glitch, or it could be an update I've not heard about (distinctly possible). Anyone had the same?

Think they have been messing about with it off and on for a while now.

It does that and I've noticed this morning, that if you message a buyer from the order page, it now gives a popup box on one side of the screen, very like messenger etc.

Totally dislike it as it was far better as email, rather than messaging which they seem to want to change it too.

Though I can see how that would work better on the App, on your phone, it certainly doesn't when your on a PC!

Ah, I didn't see a pop up but will try again and see if it appears. But glad it's not just me, and many thanks for responding.
