LL Jiffy bags and Alternatives

So, recently ordered 1000 Jiffy bags from a new supplier. They were terrible quality compared to the ones I have, so I kicked off and in the end sent them back and went back to my previous supplier (who I had purchased the quality bags from). They were rubbish as well.

I have dug a little deeper and looks like Jiffy have been taken over/merged with a company called Abriso. Unfortunately this has resulted in a STEEP reduction in quality.

Does anyone have good alternatives for jiffy style Large Letter packaging? I am more interested in the protection they afford than the cost of the product.

Re: LL Jiffy bags and Alternatives

What exactly do you mean by jiffy bags?  That is just the brand name and they make loads of different kinds.

If you mean padded envelopes and the like, then I would strongly recommend that you take a look at Kite Packaging.  Never had a duff order from them and I've used them for quite a while now.

Re: LL Jiffy bags and Alternatives

Well...yes I know it's a brand name but it's so well known it has almost become the product. 'Jiffy bag', is part of the packaging dictionary really. In the past they have been the known quality brand, it looks like that has gone now. Thank you for the suggestion, I will check out Kite, they are decently padded?

Re: LL Jiffy bags and Alternatives

I can only answer that by saying that everything that I've had from them has been of a good quality.

I have had small padded envelopes in the past from them and they have been perfectly good.  So I would imagine that the larger ones are too.

Re: LL Jiffy bags and Alternatives

I use Kite's bubble bags.  I put the items in the bag, seal it, then put it in a poly envelope.  If I've more items than will fit in one bag, I just put several bags in a poly envelope.

My items are 2.5 cm high so, with the bag, they're a parcel.  I don't know whether a slender item in a bag would exceed the LL height.  If you want me to check, I can find a cable, put it in a bag and shove it though the template.

Re: LL Jiffy bags and Alternatives

I'm another fan of Kite Packaging, not only their Jiffy bags. Any time I need a few boxes of a different size than usual, I tend to go there, It can sometimes be awkward as their minimum order size is often too large for what I need, but I've never had any problems with their service or their products.

Re: LL Jiffy bags and Alternatives

I usually use Soundswholesale for LP packaging. I like the options for mixes of mailers and stiffeners.

I have bought Mail-lite bags from them before, but not for a while, so not sure if the quality is still the same.

I have been looking for LL boxes at reasonable prices so Kite may be an option for that.

Re: LL Jiffy bags and Alternatives

Kite don't major on postal boxes.  I use loads of them, and my choice is Crystal Mailing.

From time to time, I've acquired unwanted postal boxes from other sellers, and the quality has never been as good as Crystal.

Re: LL Jiffy bags and Alternatives

So was I until the latest batch @vwpartsuk . The latest shipment from them is after the merger between Abriso and Jiffy, and the quality has plummeted. Next time you receive them, check on the back. If they say www abriso jiffy com, compare them to your older ones. The bubble padding is non existent.
