Item no received case

So this mornings little frustration is two inr cases opened despite tracking showing that delivery was attempted and that they buyer has not bothered to either arrange redelivery or collect

of course if you check the Royal Mail website all the details show the attempted delivery  but these details are not showing on eBay even though tracking was uploaded

my frustration is that even if the buyer collects the item these cases will stilll go down as late deliveries and in addition if the buyer chooses not to collect or close the case because eBay are not showing them as delivered  I may then have to refund   I work really hard not to get these cases but it would really help if eBay's tracking records were updated to prevent these things happening

I noticed that eBay's tracking feature no longer gives regular updates and if you send anything by ParcelForce their tracking does not always register the delivery leaving sellers open to unnecessary Item Not Received cases.

Before 2022 the tracking on eBay did work OK showing ALL TRACKING EVENTS but with a huge delay before it eventually updated... now  here in late 2024 we have this ! - TOTALLY UNRELIABLE tracking service on eBay which fails to update regularly with all tracking events and fails to totally register any ParcelForce delivery !  😞

eBay can and should sort this out - Surely the tracking feature of 2014 can't be better then the new upgraded tracking feature of 2024 ? Eh ? ... otherwise what was the point in eBay upgrading their tracking feature only to 100% DOWNGRADE ?

This really isn't anything to be worried about, attempted delivery counts as delivered, eBay do it this way to stop exactly what you have mentioned where the buyer opens a case, buyer wins case and gets a refund then goes to collect the item.

You also won't get a late delivery defect as long as you uploaded the tracking on dispatch.

Just to add these cases are checked if the tracking hasn't updated on site so it's pretty much impossible for the buyer to get a refund.

Item no received case

I received two late delivery marks for items not collected after attempted delivery and tracking was available. In both cases the buyer left feedback and they selected late delivery. I appealed but was told non delivery always counts as late delivery even if the buyer had simply not bothered to collect

Item no received case

I had one exactley the same.

The buyer said it had not been delivered.

Posted Tuesday this week. Delivered at his drop off point Friday yesterday afternoon.

I contacted the drop off point this morning to confirm the parcel had been delivered.

Gave the name of the client - they confirmed it was ready and waiting for collection.

I asked had the client been in asking for the item in the last two days, they advised no they had not.

Client demanding refund of item - I have contacted Ebay this morning with the evidence it has been delivered and reported the buyer.

There are many scams going around so just be careful, and do some investigation on your own if you can.

I mean why say they have been to collect, when they have not.

Why use the hospital as an excuse.

Why demand the monies back, when they have clearly not gone to pick the item up.

WHY LIE?

Its a simple question no doubt there will be replies to this ........

They do INR knowing that it’s at the sorting office. You have to refund in 3 days. They then go and collect it so they get the package and their money back.

Item no received case

If the item is in the sorting office,  then an attempted delivery  was made,  and in eBay's eyes,  this counts for delivery. The seller just needs to enter the tracking number into that INR case,  and it would close in their favour, no need to refund.

They could  perhaps try a chargeback with their payment provider,  but once they discover an item was collected and signed for,  I would imagine that refund door would be closed to them to.

Item no received case

Update,

Ebay have given it in my favour - the buyer still has not collected - even though he said he was going to.
