Impressions broken again??

Can you please check if there is another problem with impressions? Another counting glitch? These stats can not be correct. Organic impressions promoted views down to under 3000 views today at time of writing. This time last week almost 73000 views. Please help.  dave@ebay kat@ebay

I agree and think the issues stem from search problems.  I made another thread where I was told to fix the impressions issue was to open a new account.  I search word for word for 20 of my old listings and only 7 showed up.  More worrying was NOTHING showed up.  So for me it's the search function is fubar.

Stands to reason if people can't find what they are looking for then it follows less impressions, less sales.  To add the search problems are very intermittent.  Sometimes like yourself it works, sometimes it does not.

Now I've searched for one of my listings word for word and it says 1 listing but does not show it.  Might as well bang our heads against a brick wall.. so it begs the question if I can't find my listings then I doubt potential buyers can.

i tried the same search & got more results but when trying to narrow it down the left hand side bar navigation, it gives error page.  It's the same with any search I try.

No sales today so far and impressions are rubbish also, so this as infact got worse for me since the supposed 7th when it was supposed to end as I now have zero sales wereas before I was getting drabs.  Promoting a lot of my stock as well but not at their recommended rate which on some of my items is 17% which is a joke and if people are actually using that rate they can't hardly be making any profit along with the final fees, ebay postage fees, shop subsriptions.  Theres no wonder I've seen on these forums that some are paying over 50% in fees well thats why.

Because my sales have dropped by 80% over the past few months, I am now paying over 50% in fees, but I'm not paying to promote as that would add another 13%.    Sales are improving slowly so hopefully it will get better.

Before this test fiasco I had to promote as I didn't get any views/impressions with this not on.  I used to promote half of my stock and leave the other half not promoted and the funny thing is I hardly ever sold any promoted they were always not promoted item.  I think promoting some just brings the views in for me. I only ever used to promote at 2/3%.  

All through the test and after the 7th I have promoted at 10%, 6%, 5%,3% and none of it works, I've also taken all promoted off, it doesn't even bring the views in now either and defintatly no sales.  Also placements are no different.  

It is making me think about what the CS person said to me regarding starting a new account as this one does nothing now.  I don't want to loose all the feedback and ratings that I have built up over 20 years selling on here but they obviously don't care about that.

Unfortunatly we did have a look at doing this but it does not work. You get no more more impression then you would on your current account. It's all completely buggered.

I've tried the same, i've increased the promoted rate, ended / restarted. I'm only guessing but my only thoughts are they have serious server issues (maybe some of them have crashed i don't know its just a guess) at the moment where maybe our listings are only showing some of the time (as i seem to get a couple of sales and then nothing for hours which does happen from time to time on eBay but not to the extent it is at the moment)  

i find it hard to believe eBay would suddenly drop everybodys sales at the extent of there own profits by such a large amount (in mass) to try squeeze us all like this, it makes no sense as a large majority of sellers will not even think to increase the promoted rate and give up meaning overall they will loose out, i hate all this guess work it just makes more sense to say right everyone fee's going 1% up ect instead of thinking everyone is a mathematician who can work out a complex equation over weeks to fix it if at all. So im hoping this is not the cause

my promoted impressions recovered at the end of July but seem to have dived again from yesterday, i don't know if im alone or if this whole testing fiasco is not over. Or im just the unlucky one who's been enrolled in it twice now. 

opening a new eBay account is the stupidest advice i've heard from a rep, i wouldn't even consider it. Its taken all of us in someway months/years (myself 15 years) to get to this point and build a reputation i find it quite insulting if that would be the advice on offer. It would take me a year possibly longer to restart again, it took me almost 2 years to fill out all the compatibility information for car part listings which was a sole destroying process.

You're not alone in the drop of impressions again, we've taken a hit in impressions starting today i've noticed a big decline in impressions again, after very slightly recovering from the 8th. I don't think this is over but with eBay not being honest about it the frustration of sellers will continue to grow. We are tempted to join the roadshow again to see if any of this is mentioned at one of the shows, as something needs to happen. We are in the same boat as @goingfishing with struggling to get through the month with bills, whilst we are trying to survive I really hope eBay sort this out and stop punishing legitimate businesses who are trying there best to get through a time that is already hard enough.

I don't believe opening a new account is the way forward, it's something of a ridiculous notion for those of us who have followers on here and, had, pre test built a functioning business. I've stopped ringing CS to be honest, I think I know the script by heart now so I can play conversation rather accurately in my head. I've found the guys on twitter are better, and somewhat more awake that on the phones.  
I'd have to say hang in there if you can, there have been moments I've honestly decided to close on here, but I have other avenues selling well so it's a less daunting thought.  I've stopped playing around with promotions, ultimately this trial contributed massively to the pain many of us have endured the past few months so I am left distrustful of the promotional tools. 
Today, I guess being a site update day, has been a day of fun glitches with shops not showing listings and now buyer messages on orders showing an error messages instead of what was requested, search malfunctions the list goes on. It's becoming a full time job finding what on any given day ails the site.

Whilst my impressions haven't massively improved (in fact are still much lower than pre trial) since the magical 7th came and went I have started to see a slight improvement in sales which is very welcome given many days/weeks of zero for over a month. I'm always playing around, ending listings with no traction, tweaking keywords and adding new photos so it could well be this that's gaining a little ground. 
I did expect that following this trial it would take a fair bit of work on my part to get back to anywhere near the previous sales value but I'm a little more optimistic at least, though I hasten to add still very cautious.

EBay is still hugely underperforming versus other platforms but it has started, albeit at an underwhelming pace, to feel like there could still be life out there.

Everything you have said is the exact same as me so I guess I must be rolled into this test twice the same as you.  I've just taken all my promoted off now and see what happens but if I have zero sales it can only stay the same or go up?  

I have 2300 listings and I find it really hard to believe I can't get one sale from that lot?  I used to have over 6500 and a anchor shop but that went along time ago when they introduced 'good till cancelled'.

Did you see any increase in sales when your impressions went up at the end of july like mine?  I didn't get any extra infact the sales were worse than before the spike.  

My sales have only picked up for the day when my shop subsription fees were due and the day after they tanked.

Whilst eBay are not concerned about the issues they currently have (considering they do seem to be on a 'go slow' for fixing any issues) this is our sales today, how is this sustainable for a business? We have warehouse, electric, and 8 staff members (we did have 10+ at the begining of the year but due to eBay's issues throughout the year we have had to let them go). eBay either do not see or do not care that they are letting their sellers down.

If anyone does discover a way to make a change in sales we are open to any help we can get as we cannot sustain this! (This was one of the better days we have had in at least a month)!

they want you to do everything thre promoted listings, i stopped one jsut to test it and the organic impressions wen to 0, so there all BS, were getting 52% of sales are selling fees..

saying that i have promoted nearly all my listings and ther not far off yours !!

@best-range - I know there are multiple search issues being discussed here, but for this one specifically where you are getting that error page when trying to use the side navigation or filters, are you by chance starting your search from the Seller Hub Overview Page?

Several sellers have run into this issue in the US community and one of them had a very helpful post where they figured out it's a coding error in the URL for search but only if you start from Seller Hub Overview - going to the main eBay homepage or other pages and starting the search from there didn't result in the error.

funny think, just doen a search on eone account, it said compettitoers sold 5 time more than me in the last 24 hours on one account, then i did the same search on another account and it said the sold 3 more than me on the same listings !! noticed they dont show the amount sold in 24 hours again !! also on one account the listing come up in a new format and a the usuale format another !! so there obviously doing something ith different accounts, all seems a bit strange to me.

also checked the impressions at 7pm last night, acording the this morning data i got 40k impressions between 7pm last night and 7am this morning !! that dosnt really make any sence to me..

Still woeful here, pre test 1m impressions, now under 100,000 and falling daily.  Not back to normal as Dave has us to believe.  Sales non existant. Time to give it up I think.  Six weeks of being fobbed off, jumping through hoops and lied too.  Enough is enough.  If we treated our customers like eBay are treating theirs (us sellers) we would have had the 'putting the community at risk' email ages ago.

They simply do not care... unless you have evidence to prove otherwise.

I'm in the same boat, impressions are under 100,000 and sales are reflecting this, some days only 2 sales out of 2500 listings.  I know some would be luckly to have that but as a business seller used to way more than this daily I cannot survive on this either.  

I'm just waitng to go on holiday, gonna stick it out to then, after then, thats me done with this site as well unless something changes but I don't think it will.  20 years on ebay down the pan all because of their consistent meddling.  

They definately don't care as some one on one of these forums said, they are quite prepared to loose sellers I think even long term ones.  

I keep also reading loads of people getting loads of sales on a few facebook forums that I'm on but they all seem to be newbies with new accounts or private sellers.  Ebay does like to build you up to a shop subscription level then bang, they switch you off unless you pay the promoted listed.

Totally and utterly knackered.  I'm actually suprised that anyone is making a sale on here with the amount of things that don't work on this site.  Any other company they would have all been sacked on the performance they are offering at the moment to their customers, us for which we pay for!!
