The GPSR rules are going to be too difficult for me to comply with so my best and easiest option is to opt out and stop orders from Northern Ireland. How do I do this?

From my understanding, the new regulations won't come into effect until December 13th of this year, so I'm going to wait until then to sadly block all NI customers too.

Suggest not to act prematurely ... there are 1.9 million + NI buyers/sellers out there .... see how it works out !.

Some interesting comments, I ve been trying to get my head round GPSR
Credit to the many posters below, I applaud
GPSR came into effect June 23
Ebay are enforcing some categories now despite the deadline of December 13th, I have had some of my inventory renmoved for non compliance.
NI is included, will mean a legal UK/EU process for it to change and thats a very slow boat so would suggest its not ignored.
PPPPPP on this one imo, its worth investigating

Go to your postage options. You can set up exclusion list for any country on the planet including NI.
If all else fails I will be locking all EU countries and NI
Below is a copy of a letter I have just sent to Dept for Trade and Industry on this subject.
How can a business continue to trade into Europe after Dec 13th 2024 under GPSR as collectibles are now to be included in this regulation. In my field of trade most of my products are less than 100 years. It would be impossible to provide the required information for my products as in most cases manufacturers are either not known or no longer trading.
IE -
1. - Kiloware stamps sold by weight as collected by charities. The stamps contained could come from any country in the world of any age used or unused.
2. A collection of items stamps, coin or postcards etc. Same applies.
This not only will effect my business but thousands of businesses across the UK if we have to adhere to this regulation as it stands. The way I see it after the 13th Dec I will have no option but to cease all trade with the EU.
I am an eBay concierge member and as yet eBay have no answer to this problem.
What the heck are UK businesses in our field supposed to do?
HELP PLEASE.

I'm wondering how Ebay will work this out. Are they going to block listings from showing in NI ? I imagine that pretty quickly buyers there will realise they're being blocked from better deals and find a way round it to order from UK businesses who don't comply. Meaning that the actual buyer won't care about these rules.

Hi,
I only send within the UK.
Am I right in saying current advice, if not wanting to go down the GPSR route is to block Northern Ireland as a post to location?
Thank you 🙂

Yes- thats correct (in theory of course). If you only sell to GB, GPSR will not apply.

In theory I blocked Northern Ireland again last week and surprised I got two orders today.
