How can I change the "automatic approval" for returns to manual?

 

Mine, is not turned on, or I thought it was not, but a return came through earlier and it was automatically approved, when ideally I like to converse with the seller and try to see what the issue is first.

I checked the above, but approve a return automatically x amount or less, should I set that to say £1 , as all my items are above £1, then use it as my rule?

 

Would that make all my returns, needing  me need to approve them manually for all returns using the above rule?

 

I would of hoped for just a simple, click to set returns to manually approval.

Just to add to my question above, the return was for an item not working / faulty.... From many past experiences due to selling PC parts , I find that I call up the buyer offer customer support, often the issue is not with my part, but usually user error, I help them and issue fixed, return cancelled.

 

So I am happy to ultimately accept returns, but ideally would prefer to approve them manually.

I have since read that if I tick the returns option of "RMA number " on,  then have the option of adding an RMA number, which would kind of make the return more manual. 

 

But will that option also allow me to still use the eBay returns label? 

 

And how long am I given to add an RMA number?

 

As detailed I am happy to accept returns, but ideally I would like the option to offer some customer support to the buyer, which has been extremely helpful in the past for all parties.

Yes in short, use the RMA number option to give yourself breathing space. All returns are 'automatic', these days. That change was a good while ago now.
