Re: Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

I’m having a good month and already about 50% up on November last year.  This year up to last month has been pretty awful for me so it’s very welcome. May it continue

Re: Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

Don't know if it's the festive rush - cos I found things are either drought or downpour after Cassini reared it's ugly head.

I sold only about 4 things in Sept but my October was pretty good.  I did have a hissyfit when I was forced onto Simples Delivery beg July and stopped selling for Jul / Aug.  Sept I think I was being 'punished' but October was almost like the golden oldie days.  This month has been a bit slow - but I have sold several things that I have had listed and relisted for several months or even longer which means my eBay pile is eventually reducing thankfully.

Right now I'd settle for what I consider a basic month let alone a Christmas boost.

Re: Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

Ive gone back to the old tricks of closing old sales list as new everyday anything over 3mths, updating images, adding more listings (singles instead of multi) and sales are up 45% on last month and views and traffic up 207% so Ebay clearly wants to be attended to daily, which is time consuming but a must it seems (and I dont pay ads)

Re: Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

I read somewhere that sales on etsy have been a disaster as apparently many sellers had their listings unindexed from etsys search!!

Re: Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

I know theres alot of chat on Threads about poor Etsy sales - didnt realise it was "unindexed" searches - Theyve probably adopted the same as Ebay did and "hide" non relevant / old listings.   Amz forums are also saying the same for poor sales but theyre blaming Temu & Tiktok shop, so I think everyones searching for answers to poor sales when I just think its people awaiting Black Friday/budget/payday - its just been an awful year.  My Website however has jumped up this month (Orders up 135% on last month) so maybe (just maybe) people are avoiding the platforms and going direct more to companies.

Re: Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

It has been dreadful, the worst Nov ever had.  this year has been down 40% for me thought would catch up in Oct, then Nov but instead of catching up it is getting worse....

Collapsing off a cliff....

I've attached a research product graph of everyone's sales in our field in the last 90 days

Not on here no. Ebay has been a ghost town for months now. But Amazon is flying right now which I didn't expect with Black Friday week.

Re: Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

I’ve only recently started selling on Etsy but a friend told me that you need at least 100 listings on there to be visable.  That aside my sales on here have been very good but have slowed. I’m presuming  because it will not be payday for most people until next weekend and also traditionally people are saving money for Black Friday purchases and my sales do usually slow down at this time

I agree that you need to put a lot of work daily to reap the best rewards from eBay so any quiet time I have is spent is on relisting

Re: Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

It's interesting you @simplyessential_uk  mention the old favourites regular listing, ending and selling similar, tweaking photos etc.

I'd interpreted something said at the US open as we didn't need to faff as much so slowed efforts.  Sales have been a bit down.

Started a conscious end, sell similar tweak, send offers about ten days ago and things have had a decent upturn.

Re: Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

I've definitely got a Christmas uptick now but it was slow getting going.  It feels depressed though, not as busy as it should be and overall I am a good chunk down on last year still.  It feels like I'm having to put a lot more effort in for less reward tbh.

Re: Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

I've thought for a long time that whilst there may be an economic crisis for some people, it doesn't affect everybody.  Some people have money, I see it all the time, in shops, restaurants, cars and leisure activies.  There was no shortage of money, for instance, at the massive garden centre I went to yesterday - the sort with several franchised shops and 3 eateries.  It was heaving inside, with long queues at the checkouts.  The main roads leading to the garden centre were stationery with traffic for as far as the eye could see, because all the cars were queueing to get into the car park where there weren't any spaces.  Maybe they're not the people who buy on ebay, I don't know.  I do think we've become like the fictional "Tale of Two Cities" though, with the economy polarised between the "haves" and the "have nots".  I guess the way to succeed on ebay is to sell products that appeal to the "haves".
