It has come to my attention I have an unknown quantity of GTC listings that when sold and the quantity has gone to zero, instead of going into my 'Out of Stock' list just disappears. Can't be found in the ended list either.
My 45 minute call this morning to CS resulted in being told to just relist the same item from my sold listings, however that would mean loosing some pretty healthy selling history on some of the items.
If an item sold on another platform but has not sold on eBay in the last 90 days that would not even be possible and the listing would have to be created again from scratch.
Having asked to be put through to an agent with a little more knowledge of the listing process she understood the situation but seemed stumped and said she had not come across this before and has promised me a call back when she has investigated further.
I think it seems to of been happening over the past week or so but could be longer. Each item where quantity that goes to zero now disappears, it's not ended and its not showing as out of stock. I only have the option to relist or sell similar.
Has anyone else had this happening ?

There is a period of time, and I am not sure what it is, after which if your listing continues to display zero stock then that listing is removed. I had it happen to a few of mine, usually those I left up hoping new stock would come along but didn't.

Thanks @cobwebcottage
I have only just receive an updated response back from CS as below which was for an example of an effected listing.
I am getting back to you regarding this item no 284835345***. In order for the listing not to end you should go to your Account Settings then selling Preferences. On the Multi-quantity listings section you are going to see 'Listings stay active when you're out of stock.' turn that toggle on and this will not happen anymore. Regarding the listing that already ended the only way for it to be active again is by clicking on 'Sell similar' but the 'Quantity sold' is not going to be generated in the new listing since the original listing ended.
Indeed I did find the toggle to be switched in the off position for not allowing the GTC listings to remain active when out of stock (as they have always been in the past)... HOWEVER, I did not even know this toggle setting even existed and I have not adjusted it, why would I ?. My listings are all GTC and the only time they end is when I end them myself and have always previously remained editable with zero quantity in the past. It does not explain either why the effected listings do NOT appear in the ended listings list !
I am not happy with what happened. I have been selling on eBay for around 20 years and I know I did not make any adjustments to my setting for this to of happened and for loosing so much sales history of some of my best sellers.
Now the setting is back to where I am told it should be I will just have to wait and see if my listings that go down to zero quantity now start to go back in my 'out of stock' list.
Rant over, thanks for letting me vent and I hope no one else is effected in the same way.

"Indeed I did find the toggle to be switched in the off position for not allowing the GTC listings to remain active but out of stock." - I have always had this feature activated but have still lost listings with zero stock after a time not registering any activity.

They end after 180 days if not restocked.

I concur, a listing still active with zero quantity and with no revisions will auto end after a long period of time, I assume 90 days.
That's fine but my listings were ending immediately when going down to zero but not featuring in my ended listings list.
Since my previous post I have indeed had a sale where the listing has gone to zero quantity and is now in my list for 'out of stock' listings where it should be.
It seems that resetting the toggle has worked I have not had the answer to my questions how did it get switched off in the first place and once done so why did the effected listings disappear without even going in the ended list. !
