Ebay staff are sending me offensive messages. This is causing me great distress. How can I stop them

I listed 2 suspender belts with bras for sale. As you know, suspender belts are worn on the waist. But Ebay staff repeatedly remove my listings, saying they're offensive and violating their policies. Their messages say that the waist belts are next to the genitals. This is untrue. It feels distressing, humiliating, and insulting. I have phoned ebay twice and complained. But ebay staff still send me these incorrect, insulting, humiliating, embarrassing offensive messages. I have replied to the listing removals. stating the staff words are wrong. But staff keep sending me these messages with deeply offensive words. Suspender belts are worn at the waist. So why are ebay staff sending me these offensive messages and threatening me with violations? This has taken a lot of my time now, and I find it deeply distressing that ebay staff are repeatedly sending me offensive and untrue horrible poisonous messages. How can I stop them?

Without seeing how you listed them it's impossible to comment, but the messages will stop now they are no longer listed.

This is very odd.  Underpants are worn next to genital but there are plenty of those for sale!  There must be something about the listings that they thing contravenes some rules but without seeing them, or the offensive messages ebay are sending you, it is not possible for anyone to give you a useful or helpful reply.

Could it be that they're pre-owned?

eBay has policies about used underwear.

My guess would be eBay's used clothing policy:

"Used underwear and socks are not allowed, even if they are clean. Examples include boxer shorts, panties, briefs, nappies, and athletic supporters. Bras are not considered underwear"

Was the item listed with "used" as the item condition?

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

Initially the messages are probably AI not from eBay staff, if that helps ease your mind.

After a brief dive into used garters, it looks like you can sell these (like bras) but that you have to be very careful about how you sell them. See @4_bathrooms link to check eBay rules for what photos and descriptions are allowed so you can keep on the right side of the AI bots.

If you have further listings taken down, please feel free to come back with exact details of eBay messages and chats.

Hi Kat. This seems to be a significant breach of professionalism if it is as graceandco says.

Suspender belts can be listed as used, as opposed to

if knickers are listed you don’t get a pre owned option because they’re not allowed in that condition

Re: Ebay staff are sending me offensive messages. This is causing me great distress. How can I stop

Hi @masonskingsshop ,

Thank you for the tag.

While I can't advise on the action taken by the policy team the messages that are sent are not intended to be insulting. The word genitals is used by the policy team for the used clothing policy as reasoning for underwear items being near this area of the body.  The same message being received after an item is removed/on hold is due to the original action being appealed.

Thank you,

Kat

I am currently out of the office and will return on the 15th of September. Please expect a delay in my reply

Re: Ebay staff are sending me offensive messages. This is causing me great distress. How can I stop

It's a suspender belt. Worn at the waist. Yes, a belt. Waist worn. But ebay have now taken it down twice, telling me it's worn next to the genitals. This suspender belt cost over £200, it is hand made silk, designer. I could bin it, but what a terrible waste. Buyers showed interest, but ebay just takes it down and sends me offensive words. I phoned ebay twice. Each ebay helper understood that it is a belt. So they each messaged the specialist team, saying it is a BELT. Worn on the WAIST. But the specialist team still wrote back to me, twice, repeatedly stating it has broken the rules and is worn on the genitals. It's really offensive receiving these messages, which are also completely wrong. Are there any actual human beings in the specialist team?

It is a belt. You wear it on the waist, as with all belts. In fact, a designer hand made pure silk belt which cost me over £200. But your specialist team keep sending me offensive messages that I've broken the rules, and this is worn next to the genitals. This is a lie. This is deeply offensive. I had buyers interested in this belt, but ebay staff have twice taken this down and sent me offensive insulting messages. I have phoned twice, and the humans I spoke to understood - it is a belt. A belt you understand, worn at the waist. Why would anyone call it anything else, or send me offensive words about it, and de-list it? I don't want to throw it away. But I clearly have no choice.

Or you could try one of the many sites outside of eBay that allow you to sell clothes? If eBay don’t want your custom, someone else might?

Yes. Time to stop using ebay. I've used ebay for 19 years, but the ebay customer service is tragic, appalling, and a complete brick wall. I must start using another online service, not ebay.  Thank you kindly
