Dear fantastic ebay sellers. Can you help ebay make it more complicated?

Dear fantastic community,

I GET IT!

Dear buyer who sent that rude offer and got my wrath!

I didnt actually realise you werent being told how little seller actually charged for the item

or what other fees you yourself may incur before checkout ..

Just trying to offer a fair price on a camera without getting out a calculator... or offering rude price..

How can a counter offer of £68.28 end up to be "estimated" £93.28 with wording about "possible vat"...

"I may be simple" and may exaggerate how complicated it actually is,

but if thats the case so are many of my buyers who dropped their buying habits  entirely this year.

The item is located in Jersey; ie. it is outside the UK. eBay is therefore obliged to charge and remit (supply) VAT on the item price in addition to the BPF and postage charges shown.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

Re: Dear fantastic ebay sellers. Can you help ebay make it more complicated?

Just to explain how the total is £93.28:

  • The seller's counter-offer is £65.00.
  • eBay have added their BPF to the seller's offer; i.e. £3.28 (inc. VAT)
  • The postage - which was always displayed separate to the item/offer price - is £12.00
  • The VAT on the seller's counter-offer price is £13.00

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
